* Official rules of possession (borrowed from toddler rules)
1. If I like it, it's mine.

2. If it's in my hand, it's mine.

3. If I can take it from you, it's mine.

4. If I had it a little while ago, it's mine.

5. If it's mine, it must NEVER appear to be yours in anyway.

6. If I'm doing or building something, all the pieces are mine.

7. If it looks just like mine, it is mine.

8. If I saw it first, it's mine.

9. If you are playing with something and you put it down, it automatically becomes mine.

10. If it's broken, it's yours.

it's mine.

12. If it involves reading, it's yours.

4. BTW, anyone have a copy of the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition?
Edited on Mon Aug-08-05 06:21 PM by atommom
Edited to add that I found them, and I think they're very apropos.

A few examples:
The bigger the smile, the sharper the knife.
Even in the worst of times someone turns a profit.
Know your enemies ... but do business with them always.
Not even dishonesty can tarnish the shine of profit.
Let others keep their reputation. You keep their money.

9. According to "The Ferengi Rules of Acquisition" by Quark as told to
Ira Steven Behr,

However, you appear to be missing the two which Herr * idolizes:

# 181 Not even dishonesty can tarnish the shine of profit.

# 261 A wealthy man can afford anything but a conscience.

7. Well, sure, drugs and Satan play a part too. But it's mostly just
plain vanilla greediness.
