Win a free trip to DC--gather sigs for NARAL petition on Roberts
Edited on Mon Aug-08-05 06:20 PM by Horse with no Name
Join Our National Stop Roberts Petition Drive...you could get a free trip to DC!

Think about the fate of the Supreme Court being decided by the U.S. Senate during next month’s confirmation hearings. Now imagine watching the U.S. Senate hearings and debate in person! Gather the most petition signatures in our National Stop Roberts Petition Drive and you’ll get an all-expenses paid trip to DC to witness the hearings in person.
The goal of this week’s National Stop Roberts Petition Drive is to deliver as many signed petitions as possible to the Senate during John Roberts’ confirmation hearings. If you send in the most signed petitions by Monday, August 15 you could receive:

A free trip to Washington, DC
A chance to meet with NARAL Pro-Choice America President Nancy Keenan
Every single petition signature gathered and new pro-choice supporter identified makes a difference. Even if you don’t join us in DC, we still need your help. With Roe v. Wade hanging in the balance, we must make sure that pro-choice Americans’ concerns over John Roberts’ anti-choice record are heard and that the Senate doesn’t allow Roberts to hide his position on choice.

Click here to start collecting petitions today!

We’ll be in touch next week for more ways you can stay involved in the fight for the Supreme Court.

Thanks again for all you're doing!

Sincerely,

Kristin Koch
Assistant Director Communications - Online Advocacy

You oppose Roberts, but you support Lincoln Chafee, whose seat in the senate as a Republican helps to ensure that we will get bad judges and more bad judges.

Why did NARAL suddenly start siding with Republicans? Even if this particular one has a semi-decent voting record on ONE issue, his seat helps give Tom Delay and Bill Frist the power they need to crush women at every turn. His possible positive vote on your issue is easily countered by his help in getting hundreds of right wing judges onto the bench, and yes, making it impossible for us to filibuster even the worst of the worst, and yes, making it possible at all to approve these judges to the Supreme Court. Wake up.

Why can't NARAL see this? How did they get duped so badly?

Let me put this simply. A vote for any Republican is a vote against women, against reproductive rights, against lesbian rights, against children's rights. Maybe there was a time when this was not true, and maybe there will be a time in the future when it will also not be true, but it is true right now.

Congratulations for falling for the bait and switch, helping to give a Blue, Blue, Blue state a Republcan senator in 2006.

I tossed your most recent request for funds, because I can no longer trust you not to sell out at the slightest convenience.

I really expected more common sense from NARAL. Wow, was I fooled.
