Novak suspended indefinately from CNN
"NEW YORK -- CNN suspended syndicated columnist Bob Novak after he said "bullshit" on the air and walked off the set of "Strategy Session" during a debate with James Carville.

"Bob Novak's behavior on CNN today was inexcusable and unacceptable," a CNN spokeswoman said. "Mr. Novak has apologized to CNN and CNN apologizes to its viewers for his language and his actions."

CNN added it has asked Novak to "take some time off" from appearing on the network but that the length of time Novak will take from the show hasn't yet been discussed.

Testy exchange occurred during a segment in which anchor Ed Henry had warned Novak he planned to quiz him on his involvement in the CIA leak case, which began when Novak revealed the name of agency operative Valerie Plame in his syndicated column two years ago.

Anchor Ed Henry apologized for the incident, and said, "I had told him in advance that we would ask him about the CIA leak investigation. Hopefully, we'll be able to ask him about that in the future."

After Novak walked off, Carville and Henry continued to banter over Harris' political chances. The CNN crew pulled away the empty chair during a commercial break.

CNN stood by Novak throughout the Plame affair. In July, CNN U.S. prexy Jonathan Klein called Novak "one of the finest political reporters this country has ever known." (As reported by VARIETY) "

2. Frankly, saying "bullshit" on-air should be the LEAST of reasons
for suspending him. I'm disappointed that's what it took.

4. "suspended" until plame is over
less chance of their star getting asked pointed questions about his actions and motives outing a CIA operative or his testimony before the grand jury. He isn't in jail, therefore he sang like a canary.....

5. Now I'm thinking ...
... that this was their 'store front' reason to get him off center stage ... so the real issues he's up against don't immolate him and CNN once the indictments are unsealed.

16. They took the coward's way out of the Plame incident. Bogus reason
I think it was a set up to have him suspended over curising rather than fire him over Plame.
