There's plenty to criticise in his reaction - telling judges they shouldn't go by the established court methods, but follow the current public mood (even his wife made a public speech criticising Tony for that); proposing lengthening the time they can hold terrorist suspects before charging them from 2 weeks to 3 months; bringing in a law to outlaw condoning or glorifying terrorism. He's taking full advantage of wht he sees as a swing in public mood to push authoritarian acts that got rejected earlier.

It is the police who are "going after the people who actually attacked Britain". Blair on the other hand is using the recent events to do nothing more than propose draconian and racist laws in an effort to placate the Daily Mail vote.

It's a novel idea perhaps but not a particularly good one.
