Bush Have NO LEGAL AUTHORITY To Remove Patrick Fitzgerald
The Attorney General, Acting Attorney General or any other officer of the Department of Justice has NO LEGAL AUTHORITY to remove Special Counsel Fitzgerald from the Treasongate investigation or prosecution-- AND -- President Bush does NOT have the legal authority to fire Patrick Fitzgerald in his capacity as "Special Counsel".

Analysis of federal law (involved with both the appointment of -- and authority granted to -- Special Counsel Fitzgerald), Comey's press conference of December 30th, 2003, and Decision B-302582 (September 30, 2004) issued by the Government Accounting Office, leads to the following legal conclusions:

Fitz wears 2 hats. One of them is welded on. It's a long read, but please do if you haven't. It will give you hope.

6. The plot thickens. Thanks, this is a tremendous link and story.
Hmm...well, well, well. They're screwed, you know "them." They've been had, Fitzgerald is a "ringer" by Bush standards (i.e, someone honest who will do his job) and he was appointed by a guy who just got a dream job (no doubt) at Lockheed-Martin. This is pay back time. Somebody has been vary bad and they're going to be punished. AMF *

7. I think that the A.G. does have the right to fire him, but I doubt he will
In Bush's mind he can get away with anything, so why bother? He stole the 2000 election. He convinced people that John Kerry ran from combat and made up stories of heroism. He made Al Gore out to be a mentally ill, pathological liar because he said he was with James Lee Witt--rather then Witt's deputy--when he was in Texas at a disaster site. He convinced people that Saddam was involved with 9-11.

Bush thinks that he is totally unaccountable. Sometimes I wonder if he is right.

9. Umm,...Bush HAS no legal authority,...
I'm pretty sure you were prolly thinking of the regime rather than the Bush when you posted.

Anyhoots, we all know this cabal will invent (eg make shit up) to pretend they are acting within the law while they betray our laws. The mark of a true tyrant or tyrannical regime.

11. Bush* doesn't have to fire Fitzpatrick
He just has to get his GOP buddies to have Congressional hearings. They subpoena witnesses like Karl Rove, and agree to give him immunity for his testimony. Afterwards, Rove cannot be prosecuted criminally. Bush* has said he will fire anyone convicted of a crime. He won't let Rove be convicted.

Should all his efforts fail, he can take a page for the Reagan playbook and pardon him. Libby too.
