I'm heading out to Crawford in the morning. My 17 y/o daughter may be
coming with me.

It looks pretty positive, we're reorganizing her school registration
(senior yr. HS).

I can't believe I'm doing this and yet I can't stay away.

Cindy is inspirational in her conviction and I need to be there, to help in any way I can.

And I am so thrilled beyond belief that my daughter wants to be there. And this makes me feel even more outraged at Cindy's loss.

It's a two day drive. I'll check in tomorrow night, from my mid way destination.

12. My husband, who can't go because of work, is really pushing staying
hydrated.

He thinks we should go to Costco :hi: and pick up bulk water.

Anyway, we have sunscreen, umbrellas and hopefully adequate water.

I know what you mean when you say you can't stay away. With so many people dying in this unholy war, driving to Crawford in my air conditioned car seems such a little sacrifice. BHP, maybe I'll see you there.

If you're hesitant to spend insane amounts on gas, Southwest has some cheap flights that might be worth it, especially if traveling alone or from far away. You can save on food, gas, and any lodging that you might require during the trip down there.

39. The nearest airport is in WACO
but SW doesn't fly there. But most of the major carriers can get you into Waco - Continental lands there. It's about an hour or less from Waco to Crawford.

Also, probably Dallas Love Field is a bit closer than Austin.

Anyone who plans to come should bring lightweight clothing - it is very hot in Texas in August. You'll need to stay hydrated to avoid heat stroke.

Don't want to discourage anyone at all - just wanted to make sure you're clear that it SO flipping hot here. Come prepared.

records and freaks people out.

The two days in row we were over one hundred degrees, last month, were topics of discussion everywhere.

Something tells me that's a mild day in that part of TX.

We'll take your advice seriously. MKj

"Arise all women who have hearts, say firmly: Our sons shall not be taken

another country to allow our sons to be trained to injure theirs. In the

46. Good morning all. I hit the hay early last night, and am putting the
last items together for our trip.

It'll be a long (for me) drive today. I'll check in as soon as I can this evening.

Thanks for all the good wishes and I will convey them all to Cindy if I can speak with her. It's sort of the great unknown regarding what events will be unfolding when I arrive.

I will keep all of you updated whenever possible, and I'm taking our digital camera with us, so, I might be able to send to pics. At least I have my tech support person with me.

Again, I so appreciate all your good thoughts. It's very inspirational and reassuring to me, since I'm a very ordinary person who rarely does anything like this spontaneously.

But, when one has the opportunity to help someone like Cindy, who the right person, doing the right thing, for the right reason, at the right place and at the right time to effect a huge change for all of us...well, I guess that just cinched it for me.

(Plus, I had just taken the week off work to do some around the house odds and ends, so didn't have to worry about my job and my car's in pretty decent shape)

Thanks again all. I'll be checking back soon. MKJ :hi:
