JAGGER ROCKS BUSH, RICE: 'HOW COME YOU'RE SO WRONG, MY SWEET NEO-CON'

"You call yourself a Christian, I call you a hypocrite/ You call yourself a patriot. Well, I think your are full of sh*t!... How come you're so wrong, my sweet neo-con."

Ready to drop in the coming weeks, a new Bush-bashing tune from the ROLLING STONES: "Sweet Neo Con."

"It is direct," Mick Jagger says with a laugh to fresh editions of NEWSWEEK.

"Keith said, 'It's not really metaphorical.' I think he's a bit worried because he lives in the U.S." Jagger explains. "But I don't."

The full lyric also mocks National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice.

you have to see the photo of the chimp and condi-glare he posted. Did drudge not take his kool aide this AM?

6. How great!
My teenage daughter is always commenting that "all the cool people are to the left, and all the constipated people are on the right".

I think this will fit in with that line of thinking!

7. Where were you before, Mr. Jagger?
You're late. Just jumping on the bandwagon, now that it's safe?

Tell me if I'm wrong, but this is the first bit of opposition I've heard from this billionaire band.

How about donating some of the loot to the cause, Mick?

8. late or not
I like your idea of donating to the cause. Does he have to be an American Citizen to donate to some causes? Sure would like the proceeds to go to all the groups working towards fair elections and getting rid of those damned machines.

16. when pop culture moves against you
you've already lost.
Jane Hamilton wrote about this in her wonderful book "A Map of the World" (later a movie with Sigourney Weaver).
As Oprah's audience goes, so goes the nation.
Bush had the nation after 9-11. He's squandered his lead.
It's gone. Not just the cultural elite anymore. Not just Bright Eyes and Moby.
Now it's Jessica Simpson and The Stones. Sure, they're behind the curve. They're late to the game.
But they're with us now. And like it or not, people who could care less what smart people like us think do pay attention to Jessica and Mick.

19. Jessica Simpson
I don't think there's a song or anything but she said that the Iraq special she did was much much scarier than what they showed on TV -- that it was a mess and lots of explosions and stuff and the TV exex sort of "lost" the more precarious footage.

25. did you know the Stones are going to be the Hank Williams Jrs. of
Monday Night Football this year?

do you think they're happy about that song NOW?

I can't wait to see what all the wing nuts have to say about that, and I wonder if there's going to be something done; dunno what they can/will do, but I sure hope there's a huge controversy, cause they'll have to at the very least say that they've recorded something very derogatory about the dumbass

20. What I read was
her disappointment at having her trip to Iraq censored for content. She thought the horrific images should have been shown -- the aftermaths of roadside bombings -- instead of having her trip turned into a Jessica Lynch type propaganda piece. She wanted a more realistic view and not just an uber patriotic fest which dishonors the soldiers by not showing the difficulties of their day to day existence.

18. Highwire from the Flashpoint album
was anti-war as well.

Here are the lyrics.

Highwire

(Jagger/Richards)

We sell 'em missiles, We sell 'em tanks

We give 'em credit, You can call the bank

It's just a business, You can pay us in crude

You love these toys, just go play out your feuds

Got no pride, don't know whose boots to lick

We act so greedy, makes me sick sick sick

So get up, stand up, out of my way

I want to talk to the boss right away

Get up, stand up, whose gonna pay

I want to talk to the man right away

We walk the highwire

Sending the men up to the front line

Hoping they don't catch the hell fire

With hot guns and cold, cold nights

We walk the highwire

Sending the men up to the front line

And tell 'em to hotbed the sunshine

With hot guns and cold, cold nights

Our lives are threatened, our jobs at risk

Sometimes dictators need a slap on the wrist

Another Munich we just can't afford

We're gonna send in the eighty-second airborne

Get up, stand up, who's gonna pay

I wanna talk to the boss right away

Get up, stand up, outta my way

I wanna talk to the man right away

We walk the highwire

Putting the world out on a deadline

And hoping they don't catch the shellfire

With hot guns and cold, cold nights

We walk the highwire

Putting the world out on a deadline

Catching the bite on primetime

With hot guns and cold, cold nights

Get up! Stand up!

Dealer! Stealer!

Hey!

We walk the highwire

We send all our men into the front lines

We're hoping that we backed the right side

With hot guns and cold, cold nights

We walk the highwire

We send all the men up to the front lines

And hoping they don't catch the hellfire

With hot guns and cold cold, cold, cold, cold nights

We walk the highwire

We walk the highwire

With hot guns and cold, cold, cold nights

With hot guns and cold, cold nights
