New Telemarketing ploy - You cant hang up!!!?
I just got telemarketing call - as usual I tried to hang up...but the call went on!!! I hung up again for a 5 count...still going...a third time - still going...

So I listened, pushed the right button, and got with a live person - they hung up when I asked about the inability to hang up my phone...

This cant be right...I wanted to make a call...but couldnt because of a telemarketer...

What if it was an emergency?

I'm not sure how they do it, but it MUST be illegal, right?

2. That happens sometimes with land lines
I don't think that's anything the person placing the call can control. Sometimes when I try to hang up after talking to a friend I have to wait up to 20 or 30 seconds to get a dial tone again. I'm not sure why that is, because usually one or two seconds is enough.

But I could see how that would be like a Twilight Zone moment or something.

3. Theft .. of .. service
If they take over your phone and you can't use it, this should be treated no differently than stealing cable service or any other theft of service.

7. Do your self and a another a favor....
when you get a telemarketer, just tell them you'll be right back and set the handset down. It's their dime make them pay...

Same thing with a call system, it costs them everytime they call you.

8. Right before this - there was another call - I fucked with them...
Trying to sell me a postal scale!!!

I asked about 10 minutes worth of questions before I asked the girl if I could use it to weigh out weed!

She said "Sure" - at least that one had a sense of humor...

10. That's the technique I use....
Especially at work. Hold for Mr. * please... he'll be right with you.

Some of them will stay on for 3-4 min. before they figure it out.

9. I had the same type of call
twice yesterday. And I've experienced it serveral times before.
Sometimes they have come when I am waiting for an important call.
I've been concerned about not being able to call or not receiving a call I wanted, and wondered how something like that can be legal.
