State Assembly -- Lori Saldana
Congress -- Susan Davis
Senate -- DiFi & Boxer
Mayor -- Donna Frye (Ok, Mayor-in-waiting)
City Council -- Toni Atkins (currently Mayor pro tem)
State Senate -- Christine Kehoe
:toast::bounce:
County supervisor and Governor are the only men. (And I'm having doubts about the manliness of the governor.)

Hell a lot of wingers are "democratic", these people are Democrats.

7. Sorry, but that's not right
Democrat is not an adjective...it's a noun.
I'm sorry that Democratic is a homonym of democratic but that's just one of the quirks of our language.
Republicans have been playing this game of trying to change the language and it's very annoying to see US buying into it.

9. Ok then what do you call someone who is democratic
Edited on Tue Aug-09-05 11:38 AM by MindPilot
ie follows the ideals of democracy, but it not a Democrat as in a member of the party? Is it just the difference in capitalization?

On Edit: I'm sorry if you're annoyed at my little linguistic screwup, but I'm not "buying into" anything. I didn't realize this was part of another right-wing plot.

10. That's right.
Sorry about that but the fact that the names are the same is the VERY reason the right wing has embarked on this campaign to try to disassociate Democratic from democratic. Don't let them do it.

11. lucky, I'm stuck with a slate of white male fundies.
From the General Assemblyman who was made infamous by his bill that would require women to report miscarriages within 12 hours all the way to George allen and John Warner in the Senate. :argh:

12. All of my reps are politicians, most women, most Democrats.
My rep, both senators. I confess to not paying much attention to local politics, and usually just vote (D) unless there's a (G) running.

Senator Patty Murray (D) is pretty much as good as a politician gets. I disagree with few of her votes and she's very responsive (well, her staff is) when written to. Voted against the war, and got my vote and support in '04.

Senator Maria Cantwell (D) is pretty bad as a senator. She generally votes along DLC lines. Voted for the war. I'll be voting Green when she's up in '06.

Congressman Brian Baird (D) He's all over the map with his votes. Voted against the war, but voted with DeLay on Terri Schiavo. His anti-war vote will probably win him my vote in '06 but it's not a sure thing.

Governor Christine Gregoire (D) Barely squeeked in. Voted for her. Seems to be doing a good job so far. Appears to be a sort of mainstream liberal, education, health care, infrastructure funding.

For me, gender is not an issue. Left vs right is.
