Tomorrow morning (Wednesday), Democracy Now! will feature FBI whistleblower Sibel Edmonds and David Rose, author of the interview with Edmonds appearing in the latest issue of Vanity Fair.

1. Okay, here's my idea:

(Though I'm too chicken myself to do it here in right-wing country.) How about a massive mailer to Dems, and send them a bumper sticker that reads:

Google Sibel Edmonds.

Just that. Nothing political. Just Google her.

5. Okay, major criticism here:

Why do the colors have to look so damn militant? Why can't we do something with pleasing color schemes? Something that a soccer mom would want to take to the PTA with here?

6. Well, if you like go ahead and design others too...

Nothing's stopping folks. My initial idea was to appeal to those who might be motivated to get out and be more activist in demanding action. Kind of like an "El Che" type of presentation. That was the kind of audience I'd hope to mobilize to get protests out on the street to demand action, which is partially what is needed to mobilize a "Ukraine-like" response if that's needed at some point.

To promote others to do research that aren't as motivated to go out doing activist pursuits other than writing their congressmen/women, there might be some other forms of presentation, and you probably have a valid point there. I won't argue with you there. Anyway, if you want to do something for that other audience, Go for it! Those stores aren't that hard to create. It just takes a bit of time to come up with designs that map to their templates.

I could expand the shop I have to be beyond the freebee (one of everything) and offer a variety of presentations, but at the moment don't have the time for this, and it would start demanding of getting business to pay for the fees that cafepress.com would charge then. If you have some good ideas for images and would prefer they be under one roof, send them on to me, and I'll forward them to Sibel too.

7. Good observation.

We're thinking of two different groups that we need to reach, both of them equally important. You are thinking of getting the attention of the people who can be motivated to become activists; and I'm thinking of passive resistant types. People who would be happy to show they know what's going on, but maybe with less confrontation in the PTA meetings.

I'll do some thinking on your offer. I'm not usually very artistic, myself, but I know someone who might let me peek over his shoulder while he designs something to my taste.

8. I'd welcome working together on this...

I've been trying to talk others I know of with more artistic bent to help out with this. Some have been a bit busy to do much else, and others are hard to reach. The more we work together for the greater good the better. I think one thing we can all feel is important to have happen over the next two months is to get enough grass roots support from people of all stripes to ensure that the Supreme Court can't just "cover her case up", and that the court realizes their actions will be watched and JUDGED, along with the congress critters who nominate them and approve them too. If a month or so later, we can ask most of our friends who Sibel Edmonds is, and most of them respond strongly "yes", we'll have done our job! However we get to point B, as long as we don't sell our souls in some Rovian way, I don't really care! I'm convinced that Sibel is a necessary element of fixing things in Washington right now as I'm sure you and many famliiar with her case are. Let me know if and when you get something going!
