Post Your Favorite One-Liners from Democrats!!
Edited on Tue Aug-09-05 06:16 PM by Sparkly
Someone mentioned Al Sharpton in another thread (proposed as Press Sec for a Clark/Cleland administration!). It reminded me of his great and cutting lines during the debates, and other memorable quotes from Democrats.

A few (paraphrased, may not be exact):

Al Sharpton: "Martin Luther King had a vision; George W. Bush has hallucinations."

Wesley Clark: "I've forgotten more about national security than George Bush ever learned." And, "I'm not attacking George W. Bush for attacking the terrorists, I'm attacking him for NOT attacking the terrorists."

Joe Biden, to Condi (though he's not our favorite): "And for God's sake, don't listen to Rumsfeld -- he doesn't know what the hell he's talking about."

Howard Dean: "Tom Delay ought to go back to Houston where he can serve his jail sentence."

John Kerry: "Being lectured by the president on fiscal responsibility is a little bit like Tony Soprano talking to me about law and order in this country."

Other favorites??

(Edited to add Kerry's quote, which I confess I looked up.)

11. "Clearly, he lied,"
Asked if Bush had been lying to the American people when he said -- before the U.S. invasion -- that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction, the Rev. Al Sharpton minced no words.

"Clearly, he lied," he said. Asked whether the president knew he was lying, Sharpton said, "I hope he knew he was lying, because if he didn't, and just went in some kind of crazy psychological breakdown, then we're really in trouble."

Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio agreed. "The president lied to the American people," he said about the failure by weapons inspectors to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

openly gay member of congress, he knows he's never moving to a national stage, yet he does a very good job for his congressional district. He's known as the guy who will always be at a bbq, a christening etc etc. he's untouchable.

in Wash., DC. This was during the Reagan administration, as I recall. One question from the audience asked him for his opinion about a black Democrat who had recently swithched to the Republican party. He replied:

Now you know, there ARE some rich greedy black folk out there. And I think they OUGHT to be Republicans.
