from original message

It turns out the Roberts' children were actually born in Ireland. According to the US State Department:

Each year only a few Irish children are placed for adoption. Foreign adoptions are exceptionally rare, since adoptive parents must be resident in Ireland for at least one year.

and suggestions in posts that they were adopted in Latin America to circumvent Irish law

what do you think??

4. This is the way I look at it:
I have a firm belief that wives and children are off limits in ordinary circumstances. I think the situation with the McCains speaks for itself. However, if Roberts acted in a manner to circumvent Irish law then he needs to be held accountable and explain this to the Senate and the American people.

8. I wholeheartedly agree except...
under extraordinary circumstances such as this.

If Robert's wife worked for an anti-choice group, why didn't she make the CHOICE to adopt American children? Isn't that an alternative to abortion?

5. What's this about?
These "culture of life" anti-choice people only want to adopt children from other countries? What about the orphans in this country?

:sarcasm:

7. Too many of them
have less than lily white skin and are deemed undesirable by those same 'culture of life' forced birth types.

9. A baby is a baby.
Be it black, brown, red or white, no one baby is worth more than another because of it's pigment count. To claim otherwise is racist. Just because Judge Roberts may have sunk to this level doesn't mean we should. So I reject arguments that he should have adopted a baby of color. At least he adopted, which is more than most of us can say.

I haven't seen anything in the MSM or on the Web about his kids being from Ireland. I understand that adopting in Ireland is far from an assembly line process. If it's true that his kids are Irish, I want to know how he did it and if any laws were bent or broken.
