CNN, oh Jesus....
CNN.com has a story about the runaway bride pulling lawnmower duty or some such thing linked to its front page and nothing about Cindy Sheehan. If this isn't the nadir of American journalism, I don't know what might be.

I used to love CNN.

Well, this is nothing new to anyone here. Just needed to vent.

God bless us, everyone.

5. I wrote to CNN about this very thing today
and told them that in order to be considered a "news outlet" they had to ACTUALLY report the news!
And then I mentioned Cindy to them....

Edited on Wed Aug-10-05 12:02 AM by lildreamer316
I mean really. What do they need?? It phisically sickens me to the point where I have been here madly posting and replying for hours so I don't go near the TV. Just looking at it and knowing that I can't get an ounce of truth is just galling me right now. SOrry too, just venting.

On edit: NOW do you see why I am worried about Cindy??

24. I haven't watched cable news...
...since Paula Zahn announced just after cutting away that Scott Ritter must've drank too much of Saddam's koolaid (it's always been pretty obvious who's koolaid Zahn continuously drinks). This after suffering through the indignity of another announcer right after 9-11 saying, with a straight face, that they hate us for our freedoms.

I now watch maybe 2 hours of TV a month, though I do try to catch Amy Goodman whenever we get a sporadic airing of Democracy Now on public access cable, but that's rare.

As if you're waiting, hoping, thinking they might cover something of value.

9. i happened to watch msnbc this afternoon

that rita crosby show.

she was talking about the jailbreak in tennessee where the wife waited til the husband was being escorted down the courthouse steps by two deputies then shot one, thus enabling the husband to escape.

stupid question by crosby: " so who do you think planned this? the husband or the wife?"

that's what i get for dawdling for even one second on msm. though, i do watch olberman when i can and respect him.

20. Cindy Sheehan..."Angry Mom"...That Made Me Sick
I popped on early this morning and saw her described as that...then later saw they changed it to "Peace Mom". I wonder if the line was actually crossed or a rare moment of decency popped into that network.

That example of the bad roommate is the perfect definition of this network...or maybe a bad wreck. You can't stand to look, but still you have to see what crap they're shoveling to see how Karl wants the news spun today.

21. Spin this into something helpful:
There are many nonviolent offenders who *should* do community service instead of jail time.

Martha, for example.

Wouldn't we all love to see Ken Lay having to empty trash in the federal buildings? For a billion years?

22. CNN has been whoring for NORAD the last few days
I can't stand to take it in for more than five minutes at a time, but I have watched CNN long enough over the last couple of days to see Kyra Phillips whoring herself inside of NORAD or some such crap on Blitzer's new extended snoozefest in the afternoon. "Oh, so you guys saw the space shuttle coming in this morning and you knew that it was not an attack?! Gee whiz, thanks Prez Bush for keeping this place going!!!" OK, she didn't really say that, but what I saw felt like a lame infomercial for the place. CNN and their attempts to get the security mom viewership is just going to keep hurting the network as people who want real news content end up turning to the internet.
