Stay Here and Keep Fighting for Change or Move?
Edited on Wed Aug-10-05 06:52 PM by KoKo01
Argentina, Costa Rica, Canada, Bermuda...where is there opportunity for Democracy and a decent lifestyle that affords opportunity to those of us who are now "shut out of the system." And those "shut out of the system" means...by our American Corporate Media, Our American PNAC/NEO-CON Government, our "lack of Vision" that died when Jack and Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King and the rest of the "visionaries" died.

If America is in it's "Death Throes" because of "Corporatism" then I wonder if I shouldn't honor my "ancestors" and move on ...to fight the fight on different soil where I can at least hope for "REAL NEWS" and "FAIR TAX" and "FAIR POLICIES" for the "COMMON PERSON." A right to Health Care and Freedom of Religious and Political Belief. A right to Care for the Land and the Environiment.

Does such a place exist in our world today? Or, is it better to stay and fight when folks like Dobbs, Blitzer and the Faux News Network belittle the RIGHTS of folks like all of us???

1. I have those same thoughts
Should I take my family somewhere that we can be better off financially and environmentally and watch the collapse here at home from a distance? I don't know...

4. I've posted before about this...and Freepers mocked my post...
Since then, I've been more of an "activist" and tried to make a difference in my state...and without ALL OF US...who have tried to work for Voter Verified Paper Ballots, I wonder where we would be. We fought against Legislators (Democratic) who really don't understand that Gore vs. Bush in 2000 was stolen and that our "Touch Screen Machines" are CRAP and than they even stole it with "minority disenfranchisment in Ohio in 04, and in NC in '04 because our OWN DEM PARTY urged "Early Voting" but didn't fight to get enough voting machines and personnel on the ground to make "Early Voting WORK" instead of being CORRUPT. But, few Dems except John Conyers and the Black Caucus even want to address what we folks who worked so hard for Kerry/Ewards delt with on the ground with the Dems FUCK UP of urging "Early Voting" on all of us who were activists...on the ground.

It made me sick to think how our OWN PARTY was so CLUELESS or COMPLICIT that they allowed thousands of voters to be turned away with that "urge" for Early Vote without having thier States Voting Machinery in Place to comply with their vocal announcement.

Our Country is in DEEP SHIT because of BOTH PARTIES...and their machinery...and I don't blame anymore those who don't show up to vote. Knowing what I know...why they HELL GET INVOLVED?

2. Stay and fight!
I admit to those thoughts of quitting too. But then I think that it is our Country, not the corporations or the rights!

I don't believe we can just leave and surrender to the dark side. I admit I am often tempted to move to a bluer state, but the same logic (or lack thereof) dictates I stay here and keep battling. We need people like you to stay and do the same, IMO.

These are momentous times though and I expect truly remarkable events of immense gravity to take place in the near future.

3. Two Words: Cindy Sheehan
I admit, I also have thought of leaving, but Cindy has given me such inspiration to stay and fight the good fight. If she can do it, so can I. :hi:

5. Cindy and others are the HOPE of our Future!
For you Under 40 Somethings...it's so worth it to stay and fight and fight to the death for America.

For some of us...it's gone beyond what we think we can tolerate. They are going after the Boomers and Older...they don't want us here in America...the signs are there...actually they've made it plain.

You all can come and visit us while you TAKE BACK AMERICA...!
