Freeper:"She has a political agenda that goes way beyond her son's death"
http://www.mysanantonio.com/sharedcontent/APStories/stories/D8BT8PPO1.html

In her fifth day quietly camping out on a road near President Bush's ranch, a grieving mother protesting the war that took her son's life has captured the nation's attention. Cindy Sheehan's simple vigil has pulled at many people's heartstrings and stirred anger in others, symbolizing the country's divided opinion of the war in Iraq.

Dozens from across the country have started to camp out with her, pitching tents in muddy ditches and hanging anti-war banners; others have sent flowers. One activist called her "the Rosa Parks of the anti-war movement." Her name was among the most popular search topics Wednesday on Internet blogs.

But Kristinn Taylor, co-leader of the Washington, D.C., chapter of FreeRepublic.com, which has held pro-troop rallies since Sept. 11 and counter-protests of anti-war demonstrations, said Sheehan's protest is misguided and is hurting troop morale. "She has a political agenda that goes way beyond her son's death in combat," Taylor said.

Many decided to go to Crawford because of rumors that Sheehan would be arrested this week. But no protesters will be arrested unless they trespass on private property or block the road, said Capt. Kenneth Vanek of the McLennan County Sheriff's Office.

1. That chick's whacked!
Whatever happened to her "Tour for Truth" in Iraq? Did she even leave the airport?

11. Taylor, despite the name, is...
... a guy. He's one of the organizers of those massive, eighteen- or ninteen-person counter-protests in DC, bravely defending the Free Republic's porta-potties from the hundreds of thousands of anti-war protesters. :)

14. Real charmer, he is...
http://www.50years.org/cms/updates/story/211

During rallies before the march outside the cemetery and afterward on the Ellipse, speakers derided the Bush administration's policies as they eulogized sons, daughters, brothers and friends who were killed or wounded in Iraq. "I can't sit here in my grief and let another mother go through what I'm going through," said Cindy Sheehan, of Vacaville, Calif., the mother of Casey Austin Sheehan, a 24-year-old Army specialist who was killed in Iraq in April. "My son died for someone who wouldn't even fight for his country."

As the demonstrators left the cemetery and marched toward Arlington
Memorial Bridge, they passed a group of about 25 counterprotesters who were waiting for them with signs and bullhorns. Kristinn Taylor, co-leader of the D.C. chapter of Free Republic, was helping to hold up a large sign that read, "Go to Hell Traitors: You Dishonor Our Dead on Hallowed Ground."

2. Hurting troop morale? Gee does anyone think 44 dead in 10 days might
have a teensy bit of effect on morale?

3. They have a political agenda that goes way beyond the
blue dress. On the one hand, you have young men and women dying in Iraq daily.... (along with her dead son) and on the other you had a private affair dragged through the mud to a tune of 40+ million tax payers' dollars. Yes, I can see that Cindy needs to do some serious reflection and go home... not.

Yeah, I bet Cindy could hardly wait for her son to die in Iraq so she could further her political aims. Freeper in need of enema.

4. ask taylor about the officer that walked out of airport and did
Edited on Wed Aug-10-05 07:12 PM by seabeyond
vandalism to about 20 vehicles that have bush stickers. and ask her if cindy is bad for this soldier, or would make this soldier proud. ask taylor about the burned soldier in the hospital that refuses to see bush or any of his people

this woman better start looking around here, cause the tide has turned

that soldier that walked out of airport, if he had seen my car, with all my stickers, that someone may say hurts the soldiers, might not have been so angry and caused so much destruction. might have been a good thing to see a car of stickers supporting him thru not believing in bush lies

Edited on Wed Aug-10-05 07:16 PM by kskiska
and said basically the same thing Cindy is saying. She met with * and he was in her face, literally. She ended by saying she doesn't believe he has a conscience about this at all.

I guess she had a political agenda, too.

She's still on, and O'Really is attacking her, trying to claim that Cindy is being backed by ultra-left-wing groups like Michael Moore.

6. I am getting SO tired of ...
..that same old line "this is hurting troop morale."

They just keep on dredging that line up over and over again, ad nauseum.

Let's talk about the things that REALLY hurt troop morale - like unarmored vehicles and telling soldiers that are nearing the end of their enlistment that they're gonna be stayin' a while longer in Iraq. Gee, I'm sure THAT doesn't hurt their morale, but a few folks camped outside Shrubbies vacation home is just tearing those soldiers apart.

Rrrright.

12. 'Pro Poop rallies', more likely!!
Edited on Wed Aug-10-05 07:27 PM by Catrina
Isn't that freeper a guy who brings more porta potties to rallies than people?

Five more troops died today, may the R.I.P.

A report is out saying that the Ohio unit that lost so many soldiers last week, had asked for 1000 more troops but did not get them.

Families have to send protective gear to their loved ones.

Their CIC tells the enemy to 'bring it on' and they do, killing eight soldiers the weekend he invited them to attack our troops.

And CINDY is responsible for bringing down troop morale?

What a bunch of hypocrical America haters they are ~ twisting and turning, 'fixing the facts to the policies' every time. No convictions, just blind allegiance to a cabal of draft dodgers!!

Go Cindy!! You've got them cornered and Coward in Crawford is TERRIFIED of you!!

13. What a moran
"She has a political agenda that goes way beyond her son's death in combat,"
No shit! If it is was all about her, Cindy Sheehan would be a republican.
This goes out to all the men and women losing their lives in Iraq. To all families who are grieving the loss of their loved one.
A political agenda that goes beyond her son's death? You bet you ass she does Ms Taylor.

15. They are trying to do to the word "political" what they did to the word
"liberal". I got into it with a home-schooling evolution-hater the other day. She said education is political like that is a bad thing. I pointed out that anything having anything to do with so many people is inherently political unless you live in a divine-right monarchy.

These people are the ultimate hypocrits.

17. Some TV preacher disses college, too
My neocon relative swears by this Sunday morning TV guy who says that people come out of college no longer believing in God. Every other word spewed/dissed by the guy, and my relative, is evolution and that it is evolution teaching that has ruined schools and colleges.
The show right before the preacher has a neocon husband and wife team..the husband spends the whole time trashing women/wives and while putting the husbands up a pedestal.

Sad thing is..if this relative's kids for some reason are not well enough to go to church on any given Sunday, he makes them watch these shows to make up for not going.

25. I grew up with many who had that attitude
Quite sad really. I never understood the way they glorified ignorance and how they quickly fell back on 'you just have to have faith' argument whenever simple questions they couldn't answer were asked, usually by me. Damn private christian schools run by fundies. Most of their diplomas aren't worth the price of the paper on which they are printed.

...she doesn't want ANY MORE sons or daughters murdered in an illegal war. She doesn't want any more lives sacrified for OIL and PROFIT, and she wants the TROOPS HOME NOW!

And, I don't see the problem with that, personally.

God Bless the woman.

Probably because he knows with a name like that, he's going to get duct taped to the bed on day one. Or he'd just get beaten for being a cowardly right wing a--hole.
