What I love about this administration is that they think so little of the American people they can tell you the exact opposite news over the space of 1 day. Yesterday we learn the economy is doing GREAT! Today we learn the economy needs the spurring of more government spending! If the economy is doing great why exactly is one of the highlights of this bill is that it will spur the economy? Oh and when did the administration suddenly get interested in saving lives? You can't die over there if you die here. Oh and remember spending money spurs the economy, unless it's money spent on enviromental regulations. Those as we all know cost to much and create no new jobs.
President Bush opened the gates Wednesday for spending a whopping $286.4 billion on roads and bridges, rail and bus facilities, bike paths and recreational trails, saying the projects from coast to coast would spur the economy and save lives.

that Bush said he'd veto the highway bill if the total was over 284 billion dollars--you didn't see him vetoing it today, did you? Maybe because he's a coward when it comes to Congress as well....
