RW talk radio trumps Plame and Cindy story: Able Danger (?)...they think
Savage was interviewing the guy who 'broke' the story.....he said he got it completely from Weldon (?)

Savage stated it was the biggest story since he'd been in radio....much more important than 'some story about a CIA wife'

(listened to Savage on way home)

the big thing about this story for the RW is that they can use it to 'prove' CLINTON IS TO BLAME FOR NOT STOPPING THE PEOPLE BEHIND 9-11

interviewee said the people who discovered Atta's ties to BinLaden were afraid of people not wanting to go after people with green cards (implication: too concerned about rights) and that Clinton justice department was still in shock after Waco

Savage's immediate comment at the mention of Waco was 'but you notice they didn't mind killing christians'....I thought the common view was that the Branch Davidians were not really any sort of recognizable christian group......the problem was with the possibility that the children might have been saved

Savage is instructive to listen to: he never misses a chance to reinforce his message that liberals/democrats/Clinton are evil, traitorous, and anti christian

1. "Savage is instructive to listen to"
He's a complete idiot, but it's a good idea to keep an eye on the others so we know what they're up to.

2. I heard that too.
Something's up.
There are stories about nukes all over.
And it's all Clinton's fault.

Stranger and stranger.

3. Clinton wanted to pursue Aq and bin Laden
He was blocked by Republicans at many points.

Further, every recommendation from the outgoing Clinton administration to the Bush administration to make AQ and bin Laden a top priority was not only ignored, it was SPECIFICALLY ignored, or the opposite action was taken.

Bush dismantled our anti-AQ operation, and replaced it with NOTHING until after 9/11.

But no doubt Savage would call anyone a nutcase for mentioning such irrelevant facts.

5. ABC: Always Blame Clinton
Edited on Wed Aug-10-05 09:46 PM by RobertSeattle
The I guess #41 is responsible for the first WTC bombing, etc.

Sorry Right Wing, you can never talk down "Bin Ladin DETERMINED to strike within US". The buck stops with Bush. You can't have it both ways.

And using the same Right Wing logic, then it obviosly was CLINTON'S MILITARY that kicked ass in Afghanistan until Bush didn't deploy enough forces in Tora Bora

6. The Weldon Agenda: (This is my message from this morning )
With this supposedly new news, they will

1. Generate support for the national ID programs - something much, much better than having a number tattooed on your arm to be used by certain people of the U.S. against the rest of the people in the U.S. - despite claims that it is only going to be used for identifying and tracking foreigners. They must work fast on this before the whole truth comes out about who did what on 9-11.

2. Generate support for a national database the same as the Poindexter project that was (supposedly) canned.

3. To smear all of our intelligence operations except the military while avoiding saying anything against the Bush NSC.

4. Obfuscate what was done before Jan 2001 and twist what was done before Sep 2001 to hide a boatload of incriminatory facts about how the Bush administration knew and manipulated the data, the people, the public, government agencies, and foreign governments to get their 'pearl harbor'. (Capitals P and H should be saved for the genuine event.)

5. Create political points for attacking Clinton and his administration as an extra bonus and use Clinton to retain support from perennial Clinton haters and doubters and put down Clinton's NSC at the same time.

6. Create trust in and deify the military.

The article gives us a refresher course on the involvement of Israel in this affair.

Thanks Curt Weldon and the right wing, for being so transparent about your agenda.

Now, are the rest of getting ready -

To hold out our arms for our national IDs in the form of techie cards?
To have our every heartbeat recorded in the Poindexter-Weldon database?

Because you don't have a vote and the same people who made the machines, wrote the software, hired the technicians, paid for and interpreted the exit polling, called the election on national tv -are never going to let you vote honestly and validly again - with permission of most of the Dems.

The truth must come out - Dem leaders and Dems must fight for the country or turn ourselves over to these right wing terrorists - now.

We need strong leaders...not dancing feet and delicate words with fairy wings that are as delicate as little birds. Study Weldon and ll the others like him - WE NEED STRONG LEADERS.

The military stuff is to save the military and let the military reign supreme. That is where Israel can hang out comfortably.

Michael Savage's long, strange trip
How a Jewish kid from the Bronx went from swimming naked with Allen Ginsberg to spewing the ugliest bile on talk radio.

- - - - - - - - - - - -
By David Gilson

printe-mail

March 5, 2003 | At first glance, Michael Alan Weiner seems like an improbable candidate to be America's angriest, most vicious conservative radio host. Born 60 years ago in the Bronx, Weiner has lived in Northern California for most of his adult life, making a living as an herbalist and nutritionist. He communed with Fijian traditional healers, got married in a rain forest and studied ethno-medicine at the University of California at Berkeley. He swam naked with Allen Ginsberg, dreamed of being the next Lenny Bruce and wrote a rambling novel about a half-mad alter ego. His son's middle name is Goldencloud. For years, he made a name cranking out a pile of books on alternative medicine, recommending bizarre remedies such as using vitamin C to stop AIDS and kicking cocaine with coffee enemas.

***

This maniacal tendency, and the roiling emotions that fueled it, were laid bare in "Vital Signs," Michael Weiner's first and only book of fiction, published in 1983. A collection of confessional, stream-of-consciousness stories, it follows the exploits of Samuel Trueblood, who just happens to be a 40-ish New York Jew, an herbalist and writer with a tumultuous personal life, a substantial assortment of inner demons and a bit of a Napoleon complex. "I am physically not tall, but my eyes burn with fire," he states. "Two black fires of Hell." Trueblood narrates a series of misadventures, from procuring an illegal backroom abortion for his fiancée to beating the stuffing out of an abusive cop.

***

"Inner voice screaming at me for years, first rational, then crazy, telling me to do mad things. Every form of relief tried, painting, psychotherapy, running, diet, vitamins, etc., etc. Almost uncontrollable now. Impulses to stab children, strangers, wife, self with scissors."

Eventually, Trueblood seeks solace in chasing skirts. (Though he admits to being drawn to "masculine beauty," he confides that "I choose to override my desires for men when they swell in me, waiting out the passions like a storm, below decks.") While his wife stays home with the kids, he beds a young "cockswell" with a "dykish haircut" and skin "softer than that Northern Indian prostitute in Fiji whose covering was as soft as that of my own penis." And so it goes for another 50 pages.

No doubt the anti-abortion, anti-gay, pro-family Michael Savage would disapprove of such a perverted excuse for literature, with all its gratuitous references to illegal abortions, repressed homosexuality and shameless philandering. But it's impossible not to notice the similarity between Trueblood, the tormented seeker, and Savage, a man whose "inner voice" precipitated an existential crisis over jogging. Neeli Cherkovski says that the chapter in "Vital Signs" about Trueblood's father is based on Weiner's own life, recalling that he went with the author back to the Bronx to see the site of his father's store. But Cherkovski won't speculate about the rest. "I think he is a person who had a lot of wild experiences," Cherkovski says. "He tested a lot of waters." Even the book's dedication, to Weiner's wife, suggests that he wasn't making everything up: "Who would listen to such tales and live with he who lived them but she, the unshakably faithful Janet."
