Holed up on a ranch, Bush won't mix it up with 'Mom'
By MAUREEN DOWD

W. can't get no satisfaction on Iraq.

There's an angry mother of a dead soldier camping outside his Crawford ranch, demanding to see a president who prefers his sympathy to be carefully choreographed

3. Bravo Maureen!
Finally, someone has finally grasped the full context of what's going on outside of "Western White House" and has added real names to it.

4. "But his humanitarianism will remain inhumane as long as he fails to
understand that the moral authority of parents who bury children killed in Iraq is absolute."
God that breaks my heart. He is such an evil, egomaniacal, unfeeling, dim-witte, mouth-breathing, hate mongering, bassackwards, anti-intellectual douche bag!!! He has no idea what he has done, nor does he seem to care!:wtf: :banghead:

5. Yet he goes to Saudi Arabia, takes the money from his oil buddies!!!!
George, you are the biggest coward ever seen. You won't even meet the people face to face, who have been raped by your useless and brainless war that has not given you the money you needed anyway.

You are a useless, wasted, hunk of yellow coward tar that has nothing.

You have no life. You are a foolish dried up cart of puss. I even feel sorry for you.

10. Well, as far as his phony tough-guy
'bring'm on' attitude. He didn't mean bring'm anywhere near him, he was pointing towards the troops, far, far away from his own protected, safe place!! 'Bring'm on, I mean, not this way, THAT way'!

Does anyone really think that 'man' would ever issue such a statement if he thought they might take him at his word and come after HIM?

Oh, I forgot, freepers, probably!!

44 troops have died since he went on vacation! I haven't seen much of him lately ~ no chopping down branches, or riding around in pick-up trucks wearing a cowboy hat!

To be honest, I think he's in shock. I don't think he ever thought of the soldiers as human beings with families who loved them. I think he saw them as toy soldiers. That there are angry parents demanding to know why their loved ones died, is probably not something he ever expected. Humans!! No one told him that, that they were humans. This is the attitude of kings. Everyone is simply here on earth to serve them ~ that's why I like the fact that Cindy calls him 'George'.

How he can talk about 'honorable service' when he himself was AWOL, is truly amazing to me. Every time he says it, I am reminded that he ran away for 17 months and dodged serving in a war he supported. It shows how disconnected he is from reality.

7. What if Bush sends out his mother or wife to talk to Cindy.
Bush has painted himself into a corner, he's looking for a out.

Bush is between an Iraq and a hard place with no where to go.

Nothing he could do will help repair the damage.

9. He won't send 'em out.
I don't see either one dirtiying up their peticoats on that dusty Crawford road. Although rumor has it that Barb reallly does have brass balls. Runs in the family.

11. The LA Times story on Cindy Sheehan is terrific!
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x2000891
Thread title: LA Times:"Mother's Protest at Bush's Doorstep Raises the Stakes" GOOD!!!

And Maureen Dowd's piece in the Houston Chronicle was also published (under a different title) in the New York Times. So, adding in the rather paltry and condescending effort from the Wash Post, we've got stories in all three top papers, and two of the three were positive and supportive. History is being made!
