the nature of Cindy's vigil. Or maybe the nature of vigil of any kind. She is tapping into a nerve, stirring long pent-up emotions. She is a catalyst. I would expect that a strong response to Cindy's effort would be reflected here on DU and so it is. People we know (either in reality or from the net) are actually there in Crawford. We can get UNfiltered reports and not have to depend on the whims of MSM for slanted crumbs. Do you realize how empowering that is? Do you realize that this is a galvanizing moment for those who have been suffering (really suffering) during the current black-hearted regime?

Feel free to post other stuff, as of course we need to know what else is going on, and there's so much to keep up with. But in the week that this important move--the pawns coming within the King's range while he remains sequestered in his lair --this heroic move was made by someone VISIBLY standing up for The People. So I think you might give this moment its due. Your statement is fair enough. Thanks for the opportunity to speak to it.

I realize it's easier to post snarky witticisms rather than truly think, but is there no one for whom this Sheehan adoration raises a red flag?

I spent many years as a Christian fundamentalist, and one thing they're really good at is creating these demigods - people who attract a following wherever they go, adoring fans who hang on their every word as the "gospel" truth. I just fear that's what we're doing with Ms Sheehan. No one deserves that kind of loyalty.

So, I guess you can go ahead and do what you want to do. I've supported her financially and given her encouragement in a card. But I'm not going to let this one event distract me from everything else going on in the world.

First of all..............ALL of what you listed here is ALL part of what she is doing right now, and if you stop your damn whining and GET OUT THERE and actually do something constructive to lend your voice MAYBE.....JUST MAYBE, all these things you listed will stop happeniing again and again because the PEOPLE will say NO MORE!!!!!! We've had enough, and there will be enough of us out there all over the country, and they wont be able to ignore us anymore!
As for Closure?! WTF?!!! Sorry, I do not agree that this woman will ever have closure from anything this murderer would ever have to say to her , and I think she knows that too!

we all know there's a ton of important crap breaking loose all over the place.. but this is an issue that the media can grasp. this is the issue we can all watch in real time. It's in the open, not hidden behind closed doors. It's the wedge the pushes the door open for all the other important issues. Don't worry, Crawford will drop off our greatest pages soon enough. And don't forget there are still people who have never heard of Cindy Sheehan, despite what goes on here. Our support of Cindy Sheehan gives all of our issues a louder voice.

And I understand, we will all reach saturation at some point... but strike while the iron is hot, as they probably say in Texas.
