You know why Cindy will have a lot of people against her? |
|
Because they really know deep down inside that she is right and that they are too cowardly to confront their own failings in voting for and supporting the thugs running our country. As for the politicians who fail to support her, they know she has the courage they wish they had. As for the media....well, ten years ago Geraldo would have been camped right beside her...tells you how much influence money and the fear of death have over people. We live in a parallel nation: a government we are told about and the other is the "government" that is not elected but that runs things.

I never thought of it that way before. But now that you mention it, I believe you're right.

4. yes,- like shoot the messenger |
|
that is right on the money- But she has an advantage- because it's hard to shoot the wounded- and the wounded that wear your face - at least potentially- she needs to prepare to be hated- but she's woman enough, and been hurt deep enough that i believe she'll give the sleepers a run for it-
And she deserves unwavering support- because she is us- with a mourning mothers face- and a voice that is speaking TRUTH to darkness.

That which most upsets us in others is often a reflection of ourselves. That's why they hate me for being anti war- I believe in thou shall not kill - yet they say that am not a christian when they started this war. Or that they say that I am not patriotic when I am the one who buys phone cards for our people over seas. Imagine what a field day that carl and sigmund would have with this crowd.

However, having a large group of people like Geraldo there would run the risk of making this into a circus. It is better to keep it focused on the pain that Bush's lies and aggression cause for American families.
Two of Robert Kennedy's favorite quotes come to mind:
"God, whose law it is that he who learns must suffer. And even in our sleep pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God." -- Aeschylus
"But sometimes in the middle of the night their wound would open afresh. And suddenly awakened, they would finger its painful edges, they would recover their suffering anew and with it the stricken face of their love." -- Albert Camus
