Edited on Thu Aug-11-05 09:42 AM by adarling
So i guess Muslims aren't the only extremists out there, maybe people will remember we have our own "terrorists" here in the states.

I don't know any 24-year-olds who give $500 to politicians.

6. And all of THIS is just a coincidence...
"The inferno that tore apart a Romulus chemical plant kept burning throughout Wednesday night, prolonging a public health scare and evacuation order that forced thousands to seek shelter at motels, a school, and with friends and relatives."

http://www.freep.com/news/locway/explode11e_20050811.htm

"A fire at a chemical plant in Lawrence County over the weekend erupted into a raging inferno; now investigators are busy trying to figure out what started the blaze in the first place.
Flames engulfed the Remacor warehouse in West Pittsburg on Saturday and smoke could be seen for up to 20 miles.
Since the plant houses magnesium, which can combust if exposed to water, firefighters had to let the fire burn itself out. The fire chief told KDKA that the blaze could continue to burn for several days."

http://kdka.com/local/local_story_220113156.html

"ALVIN, Texas A small explosion and fire forced the evacuation last night of employees at a chemical plant owned by a subsidiary of B-P.
Lieutenant Becky McCall of the Brazoria County Sheriff's Department says everyone has been accounted for and there were no injuries at the Innovene plant, formerly B-P Amoco Chemical.
McCall says the first call about the fire came in at 9:14 p-m.
The fire continued to burn two hours later."

http://www.kltv.com/Global/story.asp?S=3708638

"The investigation into an explosion and fire that injured at least three people at the American Packaging Corp. plant in Story City continued Tuesday.
Firefighters were called to the plant about 11 p.m. Monday after an explosion occurred near a chemical storage area inside the plant, Fire Chief Scott Niebe said.
Two of the injured were treated at an area hospital and released, he said.
Niebe did not know the condition of the third person who was hurt."

9. The one in Alvin was still burning this morning
I had the news on while I was getting the kids off to school. That isn't very far from me.

The BP Plant in Texas City also had a leak yesterday, just no kaboom!

12. Security at plants is a joke
I worked at one for a while. There was a guy in a little shack out front. Most of the time, he wasn't even in the shack. Anybody could drive up.

I worked at a larger facility and things were better. You couldn't get in without going through a building that had at least three security guards on duty. You had to show iD and be escorted everywhere.

17. Why is this being ignored by the media??
What? Can't caucasians be terrorists? Or was McVeigh not a terrorist?

Personally, I have tired of the word "terrorist", people need to be called what they are based upon what they've done: murderer. bomber. Hijacker. Sucicide Bomber. etc., I think the term Terrorist is too easy for the neocons to maniuplate to suit them.

18. "No apparent connection to any type of terrorist activity or group"
Remember, according to the FBI's definition of a terrorist group, Timothy McVeigh, Michael Fortier, and Eric Rudolph are NOT considered part of terror groups. But if this guy's in PETA or Greenpeace, hoo boy...lock him up at Gitmo.
