Fred Phelps Coming To Tulsa This Weekend

Actually Broken Arrow - a suburb. Man, this stinks. I promised to go twist balloons at the birthday party of a friend's niece at the same time he and his ilk will be here to picket a funeral of a local soldier killed in Iraq.

That's their new tactic to keep themselves in the news - whenever someone is killed by a terrorist - especially by an explosive device - it's God punishing America for not killing homosexuals as well as specific punishment for 1995 when an explosive device damaged part of their compound in Topeka, Kansas.

They came 8 years ago to picket a local gay pride celebration. I stood across from them with two signs, "God Is Love," and "Fred Phelps Is a Wanker." Some of the guys looked like they were going to cross the street to talk with me until I pulled out juggling torches and lit them to draw attention away from them (that pisses them off more than anything). The guys picked their signs back up, thinking it was best not to mess with the 220 pounder with flaming weapons. :)

That man and his "get" and dispicable. He used to just picket with bullhorns when it was a funeral of a gay person - who died from AIDS. Now it seems he has moved on to soldier's funerals.

He is going to go too far with this and get killed by some family member. And it couldn't happen to a nicer person.

And look up Westboro Baptist Church, you'll see some of the crazier things they've done as well as had done to them. One woman did try to run some of them over. Another church member got part of his face crushed - picture on there isn't graphic.

Remember when him and his spawn picketed firefighters? the FDNY! anyone remember that??? THIS is the kind of shit that gets me wound up. Here the cons claim Liberals hate those who gave all to save lives yet we're the one screaming for them to get better benefits and pay and THEY are the ones who keep silent when the radical ones in their midst condemn them.

7. Best to Totally Ignore Him

Our paper in Kansas City will not cover anything he does. And I don't think anyone in Kansas does, either. Its just other places that do. And he just feeds off it.

If everyone just totally ignored him he would have to find some other way to get attention. (Gasp - that might be even worse.)

I think that it is really just a very small number of people. They have just learned to make a great big noise.
