The mission in Iraq is tough because the enemy understands the stakes.
Saying that the troops will come home when the mission is done.
LEARN A NEW SONG GEORGE!
They're trying to shake our will.
they want to turn the ME into a launching pad for terrorists.
We're going to stay on the offense....We're fighting them here so we don't have to face them at home.
We're spreading freedom.
I believe that deep in everybody's soul is the desire to be free.
A heavy burden falls on the members of our armed forces and their families.
We've taken steps to improve the call-up process. We give them more notice.
Recruitment goals exceeded in July. Army by 10%, still behind for they year.
Troops re-enlist in impressive numbers.
Americans can have pride and confidence in their all volunteer force.
The VP is there.
Taking questions now

|
for increasing troops or decreasing troops.
I also know that there are a lot of folks here in the US that are concerned about troop withdrawals.
They hear the story of lost loved ones. I grieve for every death.
I have heard the voices of those saying pull out now, and I thought about their cry and their sincere desire to pull the troops out. I disagree. Pulling troops out prematurely will betray the Iraqis.
Our mission is to train Iraqis, and we're making progress.
I know it's hard for some Americans to see that progress.

60. It's kind of what we call speculation |

Does he think they invented THAT word too?
I'm pleased with the progress that has been made to train Iraqi troops...

67. There is a political track on which we are making progress |
|
It's hard work, but Americans have done hard work.
Think about WWII (WHY - Is this WWIII???)
I'm incredibly proud of our military, and I think most of the American people are as well.

It chaps my ass to no end for that beslubbering chicken craw to talk about military families in any way, form or fashion.

playing badminton with the press...real breezy and the smirk was back
Mr. Sincere Nice Guy had a canned (pre-emptive) Support the Troops statement which went something like: "Look, I grieve for every death"... "it grieves my heart"..."I understand the anguish... "I have heard the voices of those who say pull out but I strongly disagree"...A journalist managed to work in "are you talking about Ms. Sheehan?" and the reply was--"I support ANY grieving mother or father"..."I've done my best to bring comfort to families"..."it's part of my duty to meet with those families..." (oops, brief stumble, shouldn't have said that--moving right along)
Did not refer to Cindy directly other than "she has a right to her opinion" --nothing about the protestors. All in blanket terms.

98. Irritating.............. |
|
What I find to be so irritating about * is how he's always stumbling over his words and using "uh" in-between words. Today was more of the same. Proper public speaking is taught in high schools...........or was he AWOL in high school, as well? Sorry for the rant, just a personal pet peeve of mine. He needs to go back to public speaking 101. Ugh.........what an embarrassment.

"And I've thought about their cry and their sincere desire to reduce the loss of life by pulling our troops out. I just strongly disagree."
So ... he disagrees with reducing the loss of life?
That's what I thought.
