You don't get it, Mr. Bush.
Copied from Last Midnight.

Apparently he thought a little news conference would be enough.

"I sympathize with Mrs. Sheehan," Bush said. "She feels strongly about her position, and she has every right in the world to say what she believes. This is America. She has a right to her position, and I thought long and hard about her position. I've heard her position from others, which is: Get out of Iraq now. And it would be a mistake for the security of this country and the ability to lay the foundations for peace in the long run if we were to do so."

You, sir, have NO RIGHT to even say her name.

She doesn't want to be mentioned in your corny news conferences.

She wants to talk to you.

I also have heard the voices of those saying: 'Pull out now!' " he said.

No, sir, you have NOT heard her voice. You have not even tried to listen.

Would she have gone to Crawford if she just wanted to have a rally and have her words transmitted over the airwaves to you? No. She wants to talk TO you. WITH you. A dialogue. A back and forth.

This press conference is worse than saying nothing. It is assuming that you can remain behind a layer of spin-- that same "media filter" that you decried in debates-- and believe what a third party will make you believe.

I've heard Cindy's voice from five feet away. I've heard her speak in person. Can you honestly say the same?

2. And from this same article....
"I understand the anguish that some feel about the death that takes place," Bush said.

This would be Bush* code to the Rapture Crowd who are gleefully sending their sons and daughters to kill and be killed? In the name of?

3. I remember, when Americans started to die in Iraq, Bush saying that
there would have to be "momentary sacrifices". Of course, the sacrifice of one's own children results in eternal - not momentary - pain. But he knows f-all about that and cares less.

6. But she has mentioned
that she'd want to follow up if Shrub said "Well, he died for, erm, freedom and democracy, y'see." Followup demands dialogue and dialogue demands face-to-face meeting.

7. "ability to lay foundations for WHAT?!"
I DON'T THINK SO! You don't LAY FOUNDATIONS FOR PEACE by pre-emptively invading a country based on false pretense (LIES), dumbass!

What you DID lay foundations for was Middle East domination, establishing permenant bases in Iraq for strategically controlling the oil there and in the entire Middle East, and for PROFITING from said oil and subsequent rebuilding from the invasion. You know, all those NO-BID contracts that went to Bechtel and Halliburton?

The FOUNDATIONS they're laying are for:

power/money
Middle East dominance
control over all the oil
corporate profit and dominance

PERIOD. It hasn't a damn thing to do with PEACE or with FIGHTING TERRORISM.

Once again: bu$hit!
