If Republicans were honest with themselves..? |
|
They would have to admit that our nation is in a much worse state than just 5 years ago. From every perspective, our nation is worse off. Even our military, which just a few years ago was invincible, is now in a state where enemies believe they can kill us at will. This is a bad development. The Bush Administration has put our entire nation in a more vulnerable position than any time in modern memory. Other nations see what our troops are facing in Iraq and they see the short-comings of our military. We are no longer invincible. Bush has exposed us to new dangers that did not exist until he created them.

with more than one working brain cell. I think it's really time for all exPresident, Ford, Carter, Poppy, Clinton, to step in and take over before the Dimson gets us blown off the face of the earth.

Unfortunately and IMO only, most * supporters only come in 3 flavors:
1> tax cuts mine taxcuts mine tax cuts mine mine mine
2> theocratic numbnutz
3> corporate fascists
None of the policies/concerns you mention require analysis by these zealots.

6. I just heard that rat bastard on MSNBC say this... (Mark Noonan) |
|
Edited on Thu Aug-11-05 04:34 PM by fooj
I tried to leave it on his blog but I'll be damned if I'm going to leave my e-mail address so they can harass me.
************************************************* I just heard you say (Mark) that it has been proved CONCLUSIVELY that there was no deception leading up to the war. THAT IS A BOLD-FACED LIE. What's the matter with you? Have you lost all sense of integrity and honor? Your performance (and I use that word loosely) was shameful. Looks like Bush isn't the only one struggling with a credibility problem. DOWNING STREET MEMO--READ IT. ************************************************
I'm afraid the truth is something that these RW zealots will never know...or care about.
Peace.

7. If Republicans were honest with themselves they wouldn't be Republicans |
|
That's the whole point of Republicanism. When you want your own way, no matter what it costs everybody else - you want greed beyond reason, consumption beyond environmental capacity, religious power in an avowedly sectarian civic structure - you have to lie inside and out to get it.
What they want means more to them than truth, honesty or integrity, even within themselves.
So they will never admit that they have put the nation in a worse position, just like they never did and never will admit that Clinton put it in a better place. They don't want that as their reality and so will believe whatever lies it takes for that not to be the truth.
You can't reason with a mind like that, because it's not a mind in the conventional sense of trying to understand reality. It is a mind totally dedicated to getting what it wants and will twist reality any way it needs to to make that happen. That's true with right-wingers from the street-level nut all the way up through the high-priced think tanks and the people now running the country.
What they want is their only reality.
