When talking heads spout that "we haven't been attacked since 9/11" line
are they WISHING for an attack?

what does that have to do with the price of tea in China?

Spain was attacked after 9/11.

London was attacked TWICE after 9/11.

I hate hearing people use that tired ass talking point when they are trying to find something "good" about the "war" (or is it "struggle"?) in Iraq.

It just does not compute.

There is no logic in that talking point.

None whatsoever.

4. I think that's the "all niggers look alike" syndrome
during the turn of the century, blacks were lynched indiscriminately as "any one would do".

7. MMMM--logic has nothing to do with it.
It's just a "talking point." A lie, artfully told, is far superior to the truth, stupid, illogical but eminently repeatable by the dumbest fuck of a freeper.

8. Say that if Al Gore had been in the White House
(as the people had voted), we wouldn't have been attacked on 9/11, either.

9. More proof of MIHOP/LIHOP
why would the neocons attack America again, since the 9-11 attack was more successful then they even dared to dream?

10. ask em about anthrax
ask em about flight aa 587

ask em about two terrorist muslim dudes who shot all those people at the gas stations

ask em about the folks shot up at lax and msy airports

plenty of attacks since 9-11 on american soil

every attack can't kill a cast of thousands

some attackers are screw-ups, like the second round of subway attacks in london

11. Just tell them your pen keeps tigers away
Edited on Thu Aug-11-05 08:40 PM by jpgray
When they object, give them the logic "you don't see any tigers around here, do you?" Maybe then they'll understand. Or if they're really Bush supporters (or channeling Homer Simpson) they'll ask to buy your pen.

attack in 1993 and then wait until mid to late 2001.

13. They don't need to attack us. They just need to outlast us.
In Iraq. Our economy is hitting the skids; our freedoms are being eroded; our world power status is disintegrating; our society is becoming more polarized each day--economically, politically, socially. As I said, they don't need to attack us, we're doing a pretty good job destroying ourselves. And more effectively than any terrorist attack ever could.

14. Here is how people should respond to that talking point...
So if Bush gets credit for there not being another attack, will it be his fault if there is another attack? Was 9/11 his fault? After all if he gets credit for there not being an attack he should get blamed every time there is an attack right?

And then there is always the question, how many terrorist attacks were there before 9/11? Did you suddenly expect the number of terrorist attacks on American soil to drastically increase after Bush took office?

Right-wingers hate those questions.

16. It's just their way of trying to say that Bush is doing a good job
Edited on Fri Aug-12-05 04:29 AM by Tactical Progressive
He isn't, and that kind of statement is a perfect opportunity to paint 9/11 as what it was: Bush's fault. We wouldn't have gotten attacked on 9/11 if it wasn't for Bush, Cheney and Rice purposely, intently ignoring all the terror warnings from both inside and outside our government. 9/11 would never have happened with Clinton or Gore or McCain or even Gary Bauer as President.

I like how they casually try to implicitly start Bush's national security responsibility clock at 9/12/2001.

Kind of like:
'So Jackie, aside from that, how was your trip to Dallas?'

Or:
'So Mrs. Lincoln, aside from that, how was the play?'

Yeah freeper, aside from that ...
