Cindy's touching the hearts of (moderate) Republicans...
Thursday, I was speaking with a customer who I occasionally banter politics with. He describes himself as a moderate Republican and brought up the subject of Cindy.

"If they try and vilify her, they're loosing me completely." The discussion went on and the feeling I got from him was that even though he was a "Bushie" he had been touched by this woman from California and was inspired by her fortitude.

Cindy's giving all people from all sides hope.

1. Cindy is a great symbol
I hope lots of other parents and people against this illegal war join her. Cindy is not going away any time soon.

2. And she's dug the final nail into the far right.
Now all the moderates will wake up, jump ship and start waving towards the Paul Hacketts. Many of them already were, but this is a signal. Even conservatives are sick of the nonsense.

The villified far-right is insane, and out of the spectrum plus "tentatively unamerican"...

3. This issue bypasses politics.
I always hoped that the mod repubs would start a chain reaction. They see their party going to shit with all the extremism and I don't think they want to be identified with that.

Cindy's story is a human story. Not a political one. If the extreme RW continues to slander this mother, they will pay in spades. It's very repulsive and we've had enough.

I hope that America is tiring of the hate.

4. Yes, I believe it does.
The transition from the abstraction of far off deaths of unknown people has been personified by Cindy.

7. I told him about haw they were trying to "Swiftboat" her...
Even he agreed that it would alienate a large part of their base if they did.
