I must say, things have changed greatly since I last visited America.
For fear of being blasted, I will admit to looking at the freepers site.

I find it absolutely amazing how far many Americans have degenerated.

Reading the comments about Cindy exemplifies the type of thinking that has brought America down.

Now, either I am a buffoon or the other side is made up of a bunch mindless people who find great pleasure on thumping their Bibles and their chests without thinking of the consequences.

It is almost a game. Somebody says that bombing the hell out of Iraq is not productive, the freepers yell, how dare you defy the President?

OK. What has it is created? Nothing, but negative behavior from Iraqis and others.

I would love to see intelligent debates about the direction of America. Televised around the world. No name calling, no insults. Will we ever see it?. Probably not because the other side has turned politics into sect like support of a moron of a President.

Oops, there I go again insulting the Commander in Chief. How about, Bush is a president who could not pass a junior high school geography test? Not an insult, just the facts, Ma'am

From over here it looks as if it is turning into a huge food fight, which is great for Bush, because the facts bother him and his buddies.

Not to say that people on the "good side! are not trying, it is that the hard core neo cons who have control side ain't going to budge. Too much money involved.

Perhaps the other supporters will soon get the picture, but then, maybe not.

1. I am afraid intelligent debates have gone by
the wayside in this country. We are now in an unCivil war. We are as divided now as we were in 1860. If this continues we may find ourselves in another Civil War. Time is running out for all of us.

2. There is a lot of fear and delusion amongst many people here
I think the FReepers are an extreme example of this, but there are many more like them that don't necessarily find an outlet for their delusions online.

I think Rove, Murdoch and Co. have been playing to people's worst fears for a while now, and it's been building up to a critical mass of sorts. Liberals and Progressives are doing our best to counter this, but there will at some point have to be a resolution. Who knows how that will turn out?

3. I am a chicken, I am soooo glad not be there. I have the mountains...
lakes and beautiful cities where I am, without having to put up with the right wing idiots. I would like to visit America, once sanity settles back in.

I miss the music, the food, the wide-open spaces, the 49ers, the SF Giants and especially the City by the Bay, San Fransisco.

Aber, bis dann Servus.

Take a look at http://www.achensee.com

This is where I live. I do the English at this site.

Let me know if you would like to visit.
