1. I don't drive a Hummer, but I paid $2.32 a gallon for regular
Edited on Fri Aug-12-05 11:41 AM by Penndems
to fill up the tank in my 2003 Toyota Echo. It came out to a little over $14.00. Absolutely unbelievable. The people of this country are paying up the nose for gasoline, and The Village Idiot is kicking back on his ranch for a month, completely oblivious to it all. At this rate, we'll all be working just so we can afford to buy gas.

Heard this morning on CNN that the airlines are raising their fares $10-$20, due to the rise in price in aviation fuel.

6. Good Lord - and it's over $3.00 a gallon in California
This guy who runs one of those "cheapest gas in your area" websites was interviewed earlier today on CNN. Says that the rest of the country is either catching up to or on par with gas prices in CA, the first time that's EVER happened.

Wish I'd written down his website address, but I usually go to http://gasbuddy.com.

9. I know, we've always been behind the curve here
I'm not sure why. But we're apparently catching up with everyone else and people are not happy. Of course I constantly make a snarky point to other motorists at the gas pumps that this gawdawful war in Iraq sure didn't help with gas prices like people thought it would.

12. We traded early this year
I traded a Blazer and a Ford Taurus for a Honda Civic and a Chevy Cavalier. It was the best we could do at the time. There are waiting lists locally for diesel Jettas and hybrids. I'd love to have either and would trade again in a heartbeat.

I was lucky and had an opportunity to buy a used prius from a relative.

15. That's very cool
We looked on every lot available for a used hybrid but there aren't any to be found. I didn't feel comfortable buying one online.

16. He's not oblivious to it, he's sitting in his counting house,
counting all his coins. That's what Kings do. He's happier than a pig in sh*t that the price of oil is at an all time high. More money for him and his GREED PIG oil execs. buddies. Life is Grand!

17. CNN reporting Nasal Spray at $2000/Gal
In its unending quest to fill in airtime with meaningless drivel and inane comparisons, CNN has scooped the fact that if you're unlucky enough to have a car that runs on Nasal Spray(!) it would cost you $2000 a gallon! On the plus side they were informative enough to also point out to those of us who's cars run on Non-Fat Milk that we only have to pay $5.20/Gal. Wohooo!
