Losing patience
Edited on Fri Aug-12-05 02:57 PM by Orrex
I'm going to flense the next Right-thinking person whom I hear make the following statement:

"Nobody complains about milk costing three bucks a gallon."

I'm confident that you've heard similar and equally sage commentary about price/unit (e.g., coffee, soda, beer, etc.), and I offer six quick and basic rebuttals to that inane observation:

1) Dubya isn't completely in thrall of the Saudi Milk Cartel
2) I don't buy fifteen gallons of milk at a time, and never twice in one week
3) I see few commercials for vehicles designed to get 10 miles per gallon of milk
4) Milk doesn't underpin the world economy
5) Big Dairy didn't just get a taxpayer-funded giveaway on top of its profit margin
6) Big Dairy isn't reaping record profits despite a strangled market

Please feel free to share your own rebuttals.

2. Meaningless apples/oranges comparison...
Try comparing the average American household's yearly spending on gas versus its spending on milk.
Wanna take bets on which one would be more?

3. Haven't seen anyone use the word "flense" here yet.
And those are all excellent rebuttals.
I don't talk to right-wingers anymore.
