are going up. There is a terra alert that al-qaeda is gonna hijack and blow up fuel trucks, but this is only being issued because some 600 truckers are staging a park-in. Flu is still a pandemic worry. The greenhouse effect could go ballistic as the Siberian peat bogs thaw out and release their methane.

But I don't blame you for wanting to retreat. I was just on vacation in Maine for a week and tried my best not to look at the paper or go on line. Every time I did, something awful crossed my path--like the recess appointment of Jackass Bolton to the UN, or the increase in violence in Iraq, or Blair's idiotic Bushistic response to the subway bombings.
