4. As I said on a thread last night, this sort of talk has
become so boring. I can no longer react to their smears. These articles are aimed at the religious fanatics out there who will never change. They thrive on this sort of hatred.

5. Actually, It's Pretty Funny
All it is ... is a recapitulation of every right-wing wacko complaint they've had about all the rest of America for the last 25 years.

I was tempted to say that it was 'smear by association' -- except that almost all of the people and groups this nut mentions are honorable! So, as is so typical of the radical Republicans, he just makes stuff up.

Still, it's actually kind of funny to read all those trite, wing-hut 'insults' ...

"shrill, anti-Bush and anti-American activism"
"socialist and anti-American organizations"
"professional antiwar fringe"
"longtime admirer of Fidel Castro"

It is funny, except when you realize that these people have gotten thousands of other people killed so that they can exercise their freedom to insult and smear those who disagree with them.

6. This reminds me of the Civil Rights Movement, when the...
Christofascists (yeah, they were around then too) smeared Martin Luther King Jr. as a "Com-symp" and a "fellow traveler" -- and denounced the entire Civil Rights Movement as a "Communist plot" -- merely because Communists supported Black equality.

Obviously by this twisted logic all Conservatives are therefore "Klan-symps" and "fellow night-riders" (and the entire Conservative movement is a fascist plot) merely because the Klan has endorsed Republican presidential candidates since the 1930s and it is common knowledge the Klan and the Nazis goosestep to the beat of the same snare drum.
