2. I'm on it again now too.
I was about to start a new thread until I saw this.
It would have been called the Inflation Room :puffpiece:
If a tree falls on the Golf Course and no one is there, does it cause this much noise/ruckus? That Goofy Cafferty should be fired. He was so rude about Castro's Birthday even mentioning an exploding Cigar, Har, Har. Whether Cuba is better off without him or not is their business. One emailer mentioned something about us being better off without a facist like Caff.

She seemed like she was going to breakdown when they cut to wolf and she stabilized. But eventually she broke. It has to be hard whatever you believe to lose your child. It's a damn shame.

Dubby is a hero to that 37% and can do no wrong. Also, some are still of the belief that you can kill off anyone that is an enemy to the country. They don't get the idea that we have propagated many of them and are creatin more every day.

41. Sad, isn't it?
The death of a child is not political, it's tragic. One brave woman speaks out, so they have to find one to counter what she says. After all, Cindy is getting lots of attention.

To me, that makes the other mom look bad, not Cindy. Her child DIED and she still doesn't get it. Then again, maybe she does, but she doesn't dare to speak up.

43. I don't understand why
People don't understand that you can support the troops and not the Pretzeldent. Cindy supports the troops, she wants them to come home alive because she knows they are dying for LIES. Yet, the freeps are calling their rally to be held Saturday a "Pro-Troops Rally". So, wouldn't that really make them anti-troops, if they think these men and women should continue to die needlessly?

19. Here we go
The other mom is up first. "You support the President in contrast to Cindy Sheehan and other mothers. Tell us why."

Her son was a staunch * supporter...we're losing these kids, but freedom costs. We wouldn't have the country that we have today if it wasn't for sacrifices"

She says that she understands Cindy's pain, but she has chosen not to let it dominate her life, her family has found another way to deal with it.

We believe in what they are doing....Says she believes that her son died for a noble cause...bringing freedom to that part of the world...freeing people from Saddam.

The day that the Iraqis voted, she and her husband held each other.

24. Perpetual vigil until the troops come home.
Wolfy now reading her old letter, about dubby being a man of faith etc.
Bringing up the Downing Street Memo. Cindy says she has studied and informed herself and has become more focused to bring the people home alive. Attacking a country that was not a threat to America.
Thanks Cindy.

23. A different perspective...Cindy
The President declined your request to meet with him for a second time. What goes through your mind when you see the motorcade?

Cindy expressing condolences to the other mom. Says that the best way to get over her pain is to save other lives. When we first went to Iraq it wasn't about liberation. "I don't want any more children to die"....When Bush came by today twice, what he saw was a couple hundred people who have opposing view points to him, and he rarely sees that. We usually have to stay in free speech zones, miles away.

Roll tape on yesterday - he thought long and hard, but disagrees

That's not what I'm asking him. I'm asking him what is the noble cause my son died for, and stop using my son's name. I didn't ask him to pull out the troops.

Are you going to DC - Yes...I won't be there 24 hours, but we will rotate.

Bringing up first meeting...I know he knew that he lied to the American public when he talked about WMDs, the DSM proved that. I have studied and informed myself and I have seen the reports come out that prove that he was wrong. The more I see, the more I become focused. Hundreds of other innocent people should still be alive.

CINDY - :yourock:

44. Transcript from early part of the show
The portion where Cindy was on isn't up yet.

But, check this out from the first hour:

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0508/12/sitroom.02.html

BLITZER: <snip> Let's talk about Cindy Sheehan. Her strategy is what now? It's pretty clear the president is not going to meet with her again. He met with her a year ago.

DONNA BRAZILE, FRM. GORE CAMPAIGN MANAGER: She's going to remain outside I think, until the president himself visits her or perhaps invites her over to the ranch for iced tea or something else to drink. But what's happening right now is that more people are coming to the ranch site. The protest is still growing in number and strength. And as you saw in a poll just recently, 61 percent of the American people now disapprove of the president's handling of Iraq.

So I think Cindy Sheehan is making a difference in terms of those who oppose this war.

BLITZER: Another almost half a dozen mothers who have lost sons in Iraq are joining her outside the Crawford Ranch.

RICH GALEN, REPUBLICAN STRATEGIST: That's a long way from any kind of mass demonstration. I mean it's -- the president's is going to be there until he comes back to Washington at the end of August. And then nobody will cover her.

The other alternative for this ending is for her to stop getting covered, then she'll go home. But look...

BLITZER: It's a tough decision for the president.

GALEN: For any president, whether it's Bill Clinton or Dwight Eisenhower or George W. Bush, any president has to balance -- or any commander for that matter, always has to balance the interests of one soldier or one mother of a soldier, in this case, against the interests of the entire mission, the entire campaign, or for a president, the entire country.

It is a very difficult thing to deal with. But the notion of people sticking out the motorcade to see if it was going to stop for a protest is kind of silly. If a presidential motorcade stopped for every protest they went by, they much work wouldn't have been done.

BLITZER: It probably would have been easier for the president to change his mind and invite her in for a glass of a cup of tea or a cup of coffee or a glass of iced tea or something had she not aligned herself now with some of these political groups MoveOn.org and others. Now it -- all of a sudden, it becomes much more of a political brouhaha as opposed to a sympathetic mother who is grieving, who lost a son in Iraq.

BRAZILE: I think that's the way some on the right are now portraying her, as a capture of MoveOn. But she's not. This is a woman who feels very strongly about what happened to her son in Iraq. She has strong views about what should take place now that the troops should come home. And I think that she's going to stay out there and continue to raise public awareness and attention to what's going on in Iraq.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, that's the GOP plan? Ignore her for the month of August and hope she goes away? Or will they be pressuring the media to stop covering her protest every day?
