Would Bush use nuclear weapons?
IMO, I think he'd do it in a heartbeat. He'd give it no more thought than he did to the invasion of Iraq.

I think that most of the people in the world "get it," but I'm not sure how many Americans do. A majority has finally caught on to the deceptions, lies and greed that got us into the Iraq quagmire.

But how many people are really aware that this man, and those around him, would launch a nuclear attack on Iran, North Korea, Syria, or anyplace else they considered a "threat?"

A "threat" to what? We're talking about an administration with no scruples, conscience, or sense of decency. All they care about is their own power and wealth. They don't even care if the polluted air and water on this planet is poisoning they're own children along with everyone else.

Fallout from nuclear weapons? No problem. They've got they're own deeply-buried bunkers. They're just too stupid to realize they may have to live in them for a hundred years. We're being ruled by unstable people who are being protected by a self-deluded media and profit-crazed military/industrial complex.

...because he's a sociopath and his followers are imbeciles (or greedy fascists, seeing profit in such a strike).

30. I agree...if he nukes someone, that will prove to everyone what a
powerful president he is.

"Look daddy...you never had the balls to nuke anyone but I did! I blew the shit out of that country! Those ragheads never had a chance!"

He is a despicable excuse for a human.

4. Maybe. And I only say maybe for political reasons.
If there are some fundies who think it out and realize that we attacked a country that had nukes and we use nukes as well, they may put two and two together and vote against a GOPer in 2008.

But Bush's instinct is NUKE 'EM!

lauching a nuke into a hurricane, if you remember. They wouldn't give it a review beyond immeadiate political expediency.

They have a stupid belief that some smaller one will do the job. They have many sheeple believing that nuking is good. I don't know where they got their schooling, but I disagree with them.

9. Bush is a rotten murdering lying bastard, but come on now
Your premise that he'd do it in a heartbeat or he'd give no more thought to it than he did in ivading Iraq is a little over the top.

and lying about it would be considered "a bit over the top." But what do I know?

Edited on Fri Aug-12-05 04:01 PM by Zynx
It's part of the job and essential to the national security of the United States. Anyone blanketly opposed to nukes has no business being President, period.

The issue with Bush is that he's a trigger-happy moron in general.

15. Kissinger & Nixon
contemplated using nukes in Viet Nam. This vile, corrupt, odious, scum-ball, pResident would not hesitate to use mini-nukes. All he would need is God telling him to carry on.
Clarke once asked the Resident Evil "how do you think history will look upon your presidency". The Chimps answer was something to the effect-what does it matter we will all be dead by then!
I do not think he was referring to himself, I think he was making reference to all life on this planet.

19. My best guess is...
... that this has been a coldly-calculated plan for at least three years. Both Iran and N. Korea have buried facilities, and whichever turned out to be the best target of opportunity would be the target of those plans.

Let's not forget the 2002 defense strategy report and the "axis of evil."

There is a game plan here, and I don't have any doubt that Bush would order the use of those weapons, if someone said to him that's the way to get the job done.

The Iranians are playing a dangerous game. I don't think they realize that Bush and the cadre of neo-conservatives around him who inform his judgment are clinically insane.

Cheney's Plan: Nuke Iran
Stand athwart the apocalypse, and shout: "No!"
by Justin Raimondo

..... " "The Pentagon, acting under instructions from Vice President Dick Cheney's office, has tasked the United States Strategic Command (STRATCOM) with drawing up a contingency plan to be employed in response to another 9/11-type terrorist attack on the United States. The plan includes a large-scale air assault on Iran employing both conventional and tactical nuclear weapons..."

25. in fact
Next week (mid-July) a FEMA terror "drill" in Charlston, NC will in fact be nuclear!! We can all hope that it is just a drill, but many fear it is going to be a real attack,(courtesy of Bush, Inc.) It is scary to say the least especially with accounts of so many servicemen being denied leave in Aug.

23. Emphasis on anyplace else they considered a "threat?".
Meaning, on his own citizenry.

I would put NOTHING past this administration. The wealthy who control the country think of us as mere dryer lint and it would matter not one BIT if all of us were to be vaporized tomorrow. What's the fuss? PNAC and the Republicans don't have to answer to voters. Unbridled ANYthing can happen now - capitalism, totalitarianism, nuclear war, WHO CARES?

They own everything.

In the same way that a robber who points a gun at you has used a gun, even if the trigger was not pulled.

The difference is that past Administrations (well, since Truman) somehow found the impulse control to not pull the trigger. Do you want to bet on the Bushista's impulse control?
