ARNOLD: Some people are saying he had an affair & woman was paid off

A tabloid publisher that was negotiating a business deal with Arnold Schwarzenegger arranged a $20,000 confidentiality agreement with a woman who said she once had a relationship with the actor, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday.

Malibu resident Gigi Goyette signed the deal on Aug. 8, 2003, with American Media Inc., which publishes the National Enquirer, Star and other celebrity tabloids. That was two days after Schwarzenegger announced his candidacy in the recall election against then-Gov. Gray Davis, according to the Times.

Later that year, American Media reached an agreement with Schwarzenegger that made him editor of two of the company's fitness magazines. Schwarzenegger was to be paid at least $1 million a year for five years under the deal. The governor severed his financial relationship with the company last month after conflict-of-interest concerns arose, although he continues to write columns for the magazines.

The Enquirer in 2001 published a cover story about an alleged seven-year sexual relationship between Goyette and Schwarzenegger during his marriage to Maria Shriver. But American Media never sought additional information from her after she signed the confidentiality agreement, Goyette told the newspaper. The publisher also signed Goyette's friend, Judy Mora, to a similar contract for $1,000, the Times reported.....

1. Maybe Ahnold can start another commission to look into...
... the allegations like he promised he would do with the others during the recall.

2. Isn't American Media where the first anthrax showed up? Are
they now shilling for the Repukes so it doesn't happen again? Is this also why so many dems in Congress are such wimps?

5. Big article in the LA Times this morning.
Apparently Goyette wanted to write an autobiography or tell her story somehow and thought American Media was going to publish it. Some chance. This is how the media, the politicians and big business manipulate the American people.

This story is important, and I hesitate to bring in what may seem like an unrelated topic: Bush's lack of love life before Laura. I have been wondering for some time why there aren't any stories about Bush's past as far as women are concerned. Kitty Kelly tells how he and Laura met as he was beginning his first run for Congress. Apparently their courtship was rather short because I believe they were already married by the time the campaign really got underway.

Kelly also tells about his big college romance. That sounds like a nice girl/nice boy type of early '60s, late '50s thing. Not really a man/woman relationship.

Those are the only two relationships I know anything about, which does not make any sense considering Bush's supposed history of drug and alcohol abuse and low life squalor. There's a reason why people usually associate "drugs, sex and rock 'n roll." Usually, where there are drugs and alcohol, sex is not far off. How is it possible that a macho guy like Bush has an admitted history of alcohol, a strongly suspected history of drugs, but apparently no sexual history at all prior to his introduction to Laura.

Back to Schwarzenegger. How come this story is only coming out now? Where has the press been all these years . . . ? And what is the source for this story? Some disgruntled American Media employee? Goyette herself (not likely)? Was she paid or not? These questions need to be answered because they will shed light on how this story was silenced or hidden in the first place.

Of course, the inevitable question is: what else is the press hiding about Schwarzenegger? And, while we're at it about Bush?

7. It's a miracle!
Praise the Lord, Bush remained pure until his wedding day. He must have been trying to convert all those drug taking sinners. It's the only explanation, wink, wink.

8. double standard??
If this story was about Clinton, would you all be posting the same way?

I'm not defending Arnold's political decisions - but it bugs me when people bring this personal stuff into the mix. He was a movie star. I'm sure he had lots of affairs.
