Why are people so fucking stupid?
GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan -- They say they were only trying to get parents to watch their children more closely when they go swimming.
Two morning radio show hosts in Grand Rapids, Michigan announced yesterday they were going to drown a dog on the air today.
This morning, Justice and Jim on rock station W-K-L-Q F-M broadcast what sounded like the noises of a dog being drowned.
When it was all over, they told their audience it was all a hoax intended to raise awareness about drowning accidents.
At least six people have drowned this week in Michigan.
Half were under age 10.
The stunt didn't please city police and local animal-control organizations.
They were kept busy fielding phone calls from concerned pet lovers.

5. this may sound sad, but,
I would be afraid to save someone’s kid today. I might get charged with assault of a minor or something for hauling them out of the water and doing cpr if needed...??!!

6. Turkeys can fly
Considering that our Def.Dept. is looking at three replacement jets all at the same time, even though no counterpart enemy exists, or the C-130 - a plane that had to have missions changed for it to do a job worse than the planes it supposedly replaced.

4. I have ranted about this idea before.....

they are morans, but I guess their hearts are in the right place. I take issue with Parents who don't get swimming lessons for their kids, and won't put a life-jacket on them if they don't. The big waters of Lake Michigan beg for a jacket, and so do any lakes that you can't see the bottom. Almost no-one drowns when they are wearing a life jacket, so WTF? Any beach or lake that wouldn't allow a life-jacket to be worn would never be visited by my Family. Learn it, Live it, Know it.

BTW, a young couple I know adamantly refused my advice at the ocean beach because "life jackets interfere with the joy of swimming".......oh, but drowning doesn't.

I am sure they could have attracted attention to drowning children in other ways.
They are disgusting.

8. Wait, what are you saying is stupid? (besides people, o/c)
The fact that they pretended to drown a dog or that a lot of babies are drowning? Parents should know better!!! I don't get that at all either, Mom not paying attention to Baby + Water - Swimming Lessons = trajic loss of baby life. Very simple equations here people. Simple solutions too, "WATCH YOUR LITTLES AROUND WATER" Duh.

9. The fact that they pretended to drown a dog, the fact that so many
believed they WERE drowning a dog, and the fact that this seems to be the only way to raise awareness.

Plus, you needed traumatize people like that
