power.

I had hoped even they would be smart enough to realize that attacking Iran is not a good idea, but now I'm not sure. They need a diversion or some way to get folks behind them again.

1. IMHO, it sure as hell won't be by attacking Iran!

3. Oh but they'll try!
Thats one of their next moves, I'd be willing to bet. And I worry that lotus is right, to many ignorant people in America ready to swallow whatever silver spooned bullshit Bu$h & Co. can dish out. Did you hear what he said about pulling the troops out of Iraq? "It would send the wrong message" to the terrorists. What? "Don't shoot"? How is it that by listening to a large group of his nations people and almost ALL of that nations people (when we say "get out of Iraq") we're sending a wrong message? Oh well, not like he's ever listened to us before...

2. "Excuse" on the way!
Edited on Fri Aug-12-05 06:08 PM by lotus
They'll have formulated their excuse pretty soon now, either another terrorist attack or some "big event" happening associated with Iran (whether real or imagined). And just like the previous two (Iraq, Afghanistan), Americans will fall for it again and support war with Iran.

Its amazing that people can be sooo dumb and still live!

4. Blame it all on Clinton.
And ignore those that disagree with them.

5. Bush has probably watched "The Longest Yard" so many times . . .
that he figures "Hey, if they fell for it once, they'll fall for it again" (quarterback Burt Reynolds after a forward pass to an opponent's nads) . . .

so he'll bomb/invade/destroy Iran, and blame it on terrorists . . . (might first need a domestic terror attack to stir up enough fear) . . .

what he'll really be doing is trying to derail the new petroleum bourse, and the very real liklihood that they'll announce that henceforth oil will be traded in Euros . . .
