How long will you buy the "naturally occurring" line?
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8927968/

The story posted is about a supposedly "naturally occurring" incident of Creutzfeld-Jakob disease in Idaho although it is one of 6 total cases in Idaho (POPULATION 1.4 million) when a normal expectation is one case per 1 million population. Also in the article is the mention of 13 people in New Jersey who all worked at the same racetrack in Cherry Hill who all died of "naturally occurring" CJD in the years 1988-1992.

So how many of us buy into the theory that 13 people who worked in the same location miraculously turned up with a "naturally occurring"
form of mad cow disease? What are the statistical odds of that occurring?

1. I'd love to know
if the horses there were sprayed for warble fly...or with any similar spray.

3. Guy in the UK
long ago when 'mad cow' caused the uproar there, said the animals had been sprayed for warble fly...it's sprayed along the spine so the animals can't lick it off but it could affect the nervous system of the animal.

I had forgotten all about it until I noted how many victims were connected to the race track.

Googling now gets me these:

The base for Thalidomide is involved apparently

Take these items as you wish, but I'd still like to know if the horses or the barns are sprayed with something similar...
