My Time in Crawford - An Essay in Pictures (dialup warning)
These are free for anyone to use. I took them myself.

Welcome to Texas (this is also known as 84 East):

This was at the top of the street leading to the ranch. Yes, it's the Ten Commandments:

The first thing I saw was the protesters dealing with cops:

And then I noticed the damage done by the previous night's rainstorm:

The triangle (which is owned by the lady whose land is to the left, btw):

The scene:

Cindy Sheehan, the reason we were there:

Night falls Wednesday night, and everyone settles in:

Then the reports that a bust might be coming came in. The cops reinforced the fears:

The sun rose hot and hazy the next day, and the setup began anew:

Tim Goodrich, the living smoking gun:

Why we were there:

7. I still believe these crosses also reframe the entire fundie debate.
These crosses, while certainly touching and heart-wrenching, have been, for a decade or two, used by the anti-choice crowd to show the deaths of fetuses to abortion.

With this small gesture, the supporters of our troops in Iraq have reframed this debate and thrown it back into the fundies faces: life is precious even 20+ years outside the womb, you freaks! Your support of this war-mongering president has brought on MORE of these crosses, both in war and with an increase in abortions because of his lousy economy.

9. Could you send them to benburch at the White Rose Society?
He has been making photo albums that are easier to download for us on dial-up. He said for everyone to send him their pictures of Camp Casey. I hope you don't mind that I asked.

24. Kick and nominated. And another question for anyone who's been...
to camp Casey. Are all of the deceased soldiers represented on the crosses? Will it be ok if I bring a piece of paper with the name of a soldier from my home town who was killed in Iraq, and put it on a cross? Or would it be better if I made a cross myself for him and brought that?

27. Thank you. I can't believe there's a GD"ed Highway named after him
what has he EVER done for this country, for WE THE PEOPLE, to deserve a damned road named after him.

I can barely breathe sometimes when I see this stuff. Words cannot express how much I loathe this . .thief
