1. Cool
It makes me so happy to see so much support for her, and the anti-war cause, from so many people!
I have the same sweatshirt on the chair right behind me. Weird thing to notice, I guess...

(the sweatshirt) & in this together
Her son could be your son, my son- and so on.
But GW will never understand that.
He completely lacks any semblance of humanity or compassion.
You know he isn't losing sleep because her son died- or anyone elses.

3. Yup....
She's so real, she could be anyone with a loved one who was lost.

Fucking PISSED ME OFF when Bush said yesterday "I understand the pain of those who have lost blah blah blah...." No you don't, asshole. Send your daughters to die for your war, and then maybe, you will understand. Send your wife. Send those you might actually care one iota about, before you say anything like that. :grr:

4. I liked this too

Actor Viggo Mortensen listens Thursday as Cindy Sheehan describes her push to talk with President Bush about her opposition to the Iraq war. Mortensen, a star of "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, visited Sheehan's camp near Bush's ranch in Texas.

As Sheehan rested in the van, Viggo Mortensen, star of "The Lord of the Rings" film trilogy, pulled up in a rental car and slipped into the van beside Sheehan.

The two talked quietly for a few moments, then Mortensen emerged.

"It was an honor to be able to meet her," the actor said.

"I'm not on vacation, but I managed to come out here to see her," he added, taking a verbal jab at the president.

(I LOVED his last line about not being on vacation... lol)

Cindy Sheehan is my hero. She is the hero of all Americans who make up the 62% of us who oppose this war. As an American exercising her right to free speech, she is a brave, passionate, living example of democracy, and she has the undeniable force and the moral authority of a grieving mother. Being a mother of three, I can't even imagine the depths of the grief she must feel having lost her son in this horrific war. But I can imagine that her grief and rage -- her demand for justice and action -- are a force that is unstoppable.

It Takes a Village to Smear Cindy Sheehan (by Arianna Huffington)

The right wing attacks on Cindy Sheehan -- desperate, pathetic, and grasping at straws -- expose much less about their target than about the attackers. I mean, trying to slime a grieving Gold Star mom because she is inconveniently questioning the reasons her son was sent off to die in Iraq? Why that would be like trashing a much-decorated war hero or outing an undercover CIA agent… Oh, right. How much longer can the Bushies get away with mauling the very values they profess to stand for before their supporters start getting wise to the fact that the only value they really value is power?

12. If my dad weren't dying of cancer, I sure would be there with her
I wish everyone with any vacation time left would go to Crawford and join her. What is the tipping point for this administration?

14. GREAT question...
Edited on Sat Aug-13-05 04:43 PM by LibraLiz1973
Just WHAT IS the tipping point for this administration???
It's been perilously close to tipping since before he took office- when will it go over? More importantly, how many more Americans will it manage to screw in the process?
