My wife just called me from Camp Casey.
Counter-protestors showed up in a bus.
Don't know with whom or what they're affiliated.

After they arrived, the Sheehan supporters stood and sang "God Bless America."

The response?

A repeated chant of "We don't care. We don't care. We don't care..."

Right-wing radio personality Mike Gallagher, who appears with regularity on FOX News to give his very important opinions on things, is very put out by the audacity of Cindy Sheehan, mother of a soldier killed in Iraq, who is sitting by the side of a country road waiting for some answers from her currently-vacationing president.

So Gallagher is having a counterprotest in Crawford, TX. against her, tonight. He's calling it the "Pro-America Bus Trip". Since, you know, Cindy Sheehan is presumably "Anti-America".

Mr. Gallagher has four sons, all of prime military age. None are serving, or plan to.

Mr. Gallagher himself has never served in the military.

However, here is a picture of him dressed in full military uniform, which he uses to promote "Gallager's Army"... a charity drive to "support the families of our men and women in uniform."



Perhaps someone else can fully digest all the various levels of creepiness here. But I can't even begin.

That busload was probably from 'rent-a-crowd' the reason they stayed only 30 minutes, probably. At $5.00 an hr. they probably paid them about $500.00 for the stint.

Seems like it's a gorgeous, cool clear night both here in Minneapolis, and down in Crawford tonight. Everything is quiet and calm at Camp Casey at this point. The big pro-Sheehan rally tomorrow, and one or two rallies in opposition make this the calm before another media storm.

The counter-protestors that came with talk radio host Mike Gallagher packed up and left after only about a half-hour. There are some conflicting reports on different blogs about which patriotic songs were sung by one or both groups earlier tonight. But there's total agreement on the counter-protestors chanting "We Don't Care!"

Still not entirely sure what exactly at Camp Casey that they don't care about, but a link from DailyKos says the phrase comes from a short essay Gallagher has posted on this website. It's called "I Don't Care" by Doug Patton.

No word or evidence of video footage that I can find yet.
