http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x1698797This guy needs to get his facts straight. From what I read here on DU, it was Cindy's supporters singing "God Bless America". The RWers chanted, "We don't Care" alex.roth@uniontrib.com

Get your facts straight and be truthful. The "war defenders" chanted "We don't care". They were bussed there in connection with a guy named Gallagher, a talk radio host. Evidently, this Gallagher person had an essay on his website that ranted on about the things he doesn't care about. Therefore, the "war defenders" chanted "We don't care". Did you just miss that fact, or did you deliberately leave out that "We don't care" chant because it sounds so anti-American? Are you an investigative reporter or just a right-wing mouthpiece? This "We don't care" chant has been confirmed by both sides of this issue. I would appreciate a response by email.

I heard the story of the counter protesters on CNN Headline News today and they told the story of military mothers that support the war being at Camp Casey to counter Cindy. Never a mention that they chanted "We don't care". CNN portrayed the group as patriotic.

10. Yeah, but it sure ticks me off. |

I mean, Cindy is finally getting some press and the moment the crowd that considers itself to be "pro-American" shows up, it gets credit for singing the patriotic song the other side was singing, while the supposed pro-American crowd is chanting, "WE DON'T CARE." It's infuriating.
DU is so ahead of the curve. We could educate the masses and turn this country around. All we need is a DU media channel. :D

Actually, those of us waiting for the President to speak with Ms. Sheehan were singing "God bless America", while the counter-protesters were chanting "We don't care!". Is it that they don't care about our dead brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, sons and daughters who have fallen? Perhaps they don't care that our loved ones are gone due to a construct of falsehoods, or maybe they simply don't care that the architects of this war planned it years before 9/11.
I really don't know why they don't care, though. All I can honestly tell you with certainty is that we do care very much indeed.
