Just got back from Camp Casey
What a marvelous event. I met Cindy and she is such an amazing woman. Her sweet spirit just flows from her. The people at Peace House were wonderful, friendly and totally committed to supporting Cindy.

The rally in Crawford was great. I didn't get to stay as long today as I wanted due to bad management on my part in regards to the SUN and the HEAT. Damn near made myself very sick. We did take part in the caravan from the rally back to Camp Casey. There were many many cars. I believe we had about 2000 people. Earlier in the day there had been a fairly large contingent of Bush supporters, I would estimate 200-300 total. They didn't last very long though. When we arrived back at Camp Casey, on 4-5 remained. One of the more pathetic ones was holding a sign calling us "cut and run traitors". We just laughed at him and watched as car after car after car caravaned to the camp.

I hope to go back next weekend. If you can possibly go, Please Do. You won't regret it. I spoke with a woman who had driven in from West Virginia and a young girl who had jumped on a plane and came in from Northern California. People from all over are coming to Texas to be a part of something momentous.

6. I am driving up from San Antonio on Wed.
I can't wait to be a part of this! I will be mindful of the heat and humidity. After 13 years in Texas, I am still not use to it! :silly:

4. hi Mourningdove92!
So true about the heat, it was stifling. I didnt stop sweating until I got home, and even then it took a good half hour.

I agree that 2000 is about right. My kids sat at the end of the road with signs, and I loved seeing the loong stream of cars coming in, for such a long time! Damn, but we are lucky son of a guns!

I wish I could go to Washington!

9. Packing up the kids
and making the trip from Mesa Az. on friday, I hope she wont be arrested by then.
This is a great history lesson for children to be apart of. I almost always take my kids to rallys and protests, they're growing up being apart of the real history.....stuff they don't get to learn about in school much. So I think this is too important to miss. Am soooooo looking forward to giving Cindy a big loving hug!

11. "Cut and run traitors?" Yeah, right...
first of all, to "cut and run" you have to be enlisted in the first place. Most of the supporters of bboy down there were probably of age to have their ass on the front lines in Iraq. Why were they in Crawford instead of in Baghdad if they support it so damned much.

Second of all, the traitors here are everyone in the * administration. Every one of them, literally, legally, morally, traitors.

2-3 thousand vs. 2-3 hundred---then down to 4 or 5 total--sounds like most of them "cut and run." Maybe the counter-protester was really talking about his fr***er buddies.
