The times are a changing
Edited on Sun Aug-14-05 02:06 AM by nadinbrzezinski
We know Dylan put it well, but today I had some talks with people. One of them is in education, the other in the service, and then my encounter the other day with a freeper.

Anyhow there is a change in the country, a significant change> People are very uneasy waiting for the other proverbial shoe to drop. We have, most likely, reached the tipping point and gone over it, and it was this week. All of a sudden I am noticing that bush bots are far more tense, like they are starting to realize they are loosing control, yet the Stenography Corp is well behind the power curve trying to distact... see shiny metal over here! And it is not working

Heck it is getting hot at the ranchette, with the on again of again and once again on again terra alert. Then we have a four star cashiered (I wonder ever more if General Byrnes disobeyed a direct unlawful order). And we have workers doing work stoppages. You can feel it, the tension in the air... I believe this is the moment we all have been waiting for. It is also time for all of you to decide, how far are you willing to go? I don't believe this bunch will give up power, so the time of sorrows, as I have called it, is upon us. How much are you willing to sacrifice for the tree of liberty may require some blood...

4. I haven't got much left.
But Janis sang and Kris Kristopherson wrote, "Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose."

8. Think who we have in power
then think kent State... I can easily foresee something like that, or martial law and during demonstrations accidents happening... or far worst. I can foresee it.. hence why I am mentally steeled to what is coming.

We have to keep this peaceful, non violence is out ticket, but that does not mean these Neo Cons will play by those same rules. I am sorry to say it, but even Gandhi lost people, as well as... MILK, they BOTh made the ultimate sacrifice and you cannot say they were violent people who advocated violence.

11. yes, you're correct
but their stance of non-violence is a beacon for those who advocate against injustice and violence. Don't tell me that we are losing these basic precepts. I would gladly go out as my avatar did rather than join the opposition's ranks.

13. Oh I am not saying otherwise
but this is the moment of decision. Are you willing to pay the ultimate price?

That is why I point this out, we may very well be closer to that moment than many expects, as this is NOT a game...

5. I enjoy every day.
Though not consumed by fear, I do worry about what the next few weeks might bring... perhaps days... :(

10. Very sobering post, Nadin. And so true.
The proverbial "moment of truth" seems to be approaching like a freight train.

12. Faster than we expect it, we may not make it to September
heck Rich has surrendered his ghost as well and told george the war is over...

Things are about to take a life of their own... and now we need to steel ourselves and for god sakes keep this peaceful

15. I saw that! I almost fell over!
I liked the way Rich worded his piece on that, too. It was so TRUE! And booosh doesn't have a CLUE!

I'm sure many of us will try to keep it as peaceful as possible, and support one another anyway we can.

I only hope that, no matter what happens, we'll still be able to talk to each other on DU.

Interesting times, indeed.

14. To the roots
if that's what it takes. I don't have that many days left (in the bigger scheme, picture, grand scale, whatever).
Just this point in time.

I might as well go out standing up, if i must fall, for the tree that's shaded me this time around.
