CNN just reported 6 soldiers killed in Iraq today.
I googled for a story and none came up. It is probably buried in the stories close to the last paragraph.

I'll find a link.

1. Oh my God.
And just when Bush is battling Cindy Sheehan in Crawford. This should strike the death blow to any hopes he had of "rescuing himself".

All cameras and microphones will be pushed in Cindy's face. She'll be predictably saying, "See. What did I say?"

"Three US soldiers killed by bomb in northern Iraq

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Three U.S. soldiers were killed and another was wounded when their patrol struck a roadside bomb in northern Iraq, the U.S. military said on Sunday.

The attack at Tuz, some 110 miles north of Baghdad, occurred late on Friday, the military said in a statement. It gave no further details.

edit to add - how disgusting? This two paragraph blurb of an article has been freeped - down to 1 and 1/2 stars with 127 votes.

Do they post "let's go bury the stories reporting the soldiers we have to bury" threads over on Conservative Websites? "We Don't Care" - yes, we get it!

I'm still looking to confirm a total of 6 but this article just got posted online.

17. Thanks. They have extended the article. More info:
"Three US soldiers killed by bomb in northern Iraq

-snip-
Four U.S. soldiers were killed and six were wounded in an attack on a patrol in the same area on Tuesday.

U.S. commanders have acknowledged insurgents have been designing more effective bombs, killing entire crews of armored vehicles with increasing frequency.

In one incident last week, 14 Americans in one vehicle were killed by a land mine, the deadliest attack of its kind in the entire conflict in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion in March 2003 to topple Saddam Hussein

A U.S. general said on Friday attacks by "improvised explosive devices," or IEDs, on his convoys had doubled in a year and U.S. forces had increased the amount of armor on vehicles.

18. Now I found this: Five US soldiers killed across Iraq
"Five US soldiers killed across Iraq

Five US soldiers were killed over the past two days across Iraq, the US military said, bringing the total number of soldiers killed since the start of August to 43.

Of the five deaths announced Sunday, three soldiers died near the northern town of Tuz when hit by a roadside bomb on Friday at 11:00 pm (1900 GMT). One other soldier was wounded.

The other two soldiers died in Baghdad, with one found dead on Friday with a gunshot wound and the other killed Saturday when his unit was hit by a roadside bomb in the western part of the capital, the military said.

US forces have been facing massive insurgent attacks since July, but the first 12 days of August seem to be one of the deadliest anti-US bouts in Iraq with 43 soldiers killed.

Six US soldiers killed across Iraq over the weekend

Six US soldiers have been killed and five were wounded in roadside bombings and shooting attacks across Iraq over the weekend, the US military said on Sunday.

A roadside bomb killed three US soldiers and wounded another who were on a patrol mission late Friday in Tuz, some 180 km north of Baghdad, the military said in a brief statement.

One soldier was killed and another wounded in another bombing in west Baghdad on Saturday, the military said.

In another separate roadside bombing, one soldier was killed Sunday and three others were wounded east of Rutbah, 400 km west of Baghdad, the military added.

One soldier was found dead of a gunshot wound on Friday, the military said, adding an investigation was underway.

The names of all the six soldiers were being withheld pending notification of next to kin.

9. Sometimes it takes a day or so to update the website.
If you haven't been there, look under statistics (I think) ddro down thing for coalition casualties by location over time. It will take you to another website that loads fairly fast. No dead people, just a map of Iraq with splotches showing up.

10. It might be one of the worst months
we have had in Iraq. It's only the 14th and including the 6 today, 54 have died. That's as many as the total amount of casualties last month. I hope it doesn't hit the triple digits.

Will 2,000 dead be the turning point for America to wake up?

Will America say, "2,000 is enough?"

15. Our plans for a vigil at 2000 is going to be a lot sooner than we thought
We are planning a peace vigil in honor of 2000 American Military casualties. We decided it a few months ago and were thinking it would be early December.

It looks like we need to get busy. I hope it's still not until December, but it's looking like it will be sadly soon.

19. more of those ''hearts and flowers'' the
iraqi's are welcoming us with.

all conservatives are a danger to america.

conservative leaders have plied the nation with a cocktail of hate, lies about wealth and class and religous bigotry.
their followers have knowingly swallowed -- harming themselves and the country in the process.
