Bush isn't scared, he just doesn't give a shit.
Let me preface by saying that I have enormous respect for Cindy and God knows, she's our light in a very dark time.

I've heard many posters claim that Bush is just a coward, and is hiding out at the ranch. Nothing could be further from the truth. Cindy is just creating a nuisance for him, and he couldn't give a shit about her cause.

Bush is a globalist. He has absolutely no allegiance or respect for this country or its citizens. We are just one piece of the pie. He was installed by multinational corporate interests via their enormous contributions. It's all about the money. He has created an environment in which we attack each other in order to turn our eye away from his sinister acts. He had no desire to pursue Osama Bin Laden, and I really don't know if the guy even exists. They need a boogeyman and it's been pretty effective so far.

I don't want to piss on anyone's parade or diminish the work that Cindy is doing for us. Thank God for her. We've needed a voice for a long time. However, continually saying that he's a "coward" is just wishful thinking. He's well aware of what he's doing.

I welcome anyone who disagrees with me. This is a president that said, and this is not verbatim, that he really doesn't care about his legacy because he will be dead.

I've never heard these words come from a previous president of our county. I feel that just the statement itself, is very foretelling.

1. I also don't think he's scared, but I also think he DOES give a shit
but when confronted by Cindy Sheehan, and all that she stands for, he just doesn't have a fucking clue on how to face it.

This is just another in a long line of his Alfred E. Neuman-in-the-headlights moments.

2. He's Scared Shitless because of...
the inumerable investigations into the corrupt GOP, and soon indictments will be hitting his administration. He lied us into a war and more than half the country knows this now.

Also, the media is losing its propaganda battle and Karl Rove has lost his handle.

So yes... Bush is scared shitless. Cindy is the nail in his coffin. Bush's legacy and name will be shit for centuries to come if we live that long.

8. Why? He doesn't care about his legacy.
He's admitted as much.

There is no reason for him to be scared. His handlers keep him isolated. He's already president, in his second term, and isn't going anywhere, contrary to our hopes and dreams.

9. Those indictments have been a loooong time coming
Bush ruthlessly controls all the strings.
He plays by his own rules, and changes the rules as he goes.
We have yet to make a single charge stick.
I am not holding my breath - once we set foot in Iran,
all the rules will change again.
All charges will be dropped in the name of national security.

You, I, and everyone in this country, including future generations, will know about the wicked "W". The problem is, NOW. Bush could give 2 shits about the future. He's a lame duck and probably feels that he has nothing to lose.

I have no doubt that the endgame will make us a stronger nation. The problem is the interim time. It's really gonna be a bitch, I'm afraid.

Damn, I hate being the wet blanket and all.

3. I fear you are correct.
Everything he says and does smacks of "New World Order", if I may borrow a conspiracy term. A Corporate World Order, to be more specific. Instead of Satan leading the charge, it'll be the CEO of some huge, trans-national conglomerate.

The world is changing fast, and George W. Bush has helped it do so. The new order is coming, and America is just one little cog in some grander scheme of imperialism. Some may believe it's for our own best interests, but it certainly isn't what the American People believe. They still believe in America.

6. Bingo.
His refusal to meet with Cindy Sheehan - or deal with myriad other issues, for that matter - has nothing to do with fear and everything to do with the fact that he simply doesn't care.

Cindy Sheehan hasn't contributed $100,000 to his campaign and didn't help him steal an election or two. To him, she's unimportant.

All behaviors that some interpret as 'worried' or 'scared' are the behaviors of a pathological naricissist who cannot tolerate any suggestion that it's not "about him." This is a pathetic excuse for a human being who has to be drugged to share the stage/spotlight with anyone for more than a few seconds without his deep-seated sense of non-existence driving him to scream "look at me!"

We must assiduously keep in mind the fact that a narcissist is totally dependent on the reactions of others to confirm his very existence - he has no autonomous sense of self, let alone self-esteem. He gains his 'supply' by mugging, threatening, aping, joking, and acting up in order to survey the reflection of his existence in the reactions of HIS audience. 'Enough' is never enough for long. It's an insatiable obsession.

In a perverted sense, Cindy is providing a 'supply' and feeding his narcissism. Smirk's frustration, to the degree it exists, would stem from being held back from stimulating a heightened reaction. It's his dope and he can't get enough of it.

23. Well he did mock Carla Faye Tucker who was on death row
soon to be executed. Is it just me or does he seem even more arrogant(if that's even possible) of late? Seems like he thinks he's untouchable no matter how many "gates" are revealed/uncovered. His smirkiness is reaching new heights. The little worm has an ego the size of Dallas. Didn't he just make a remark about "power is being president"? He's on an ego trip from Hell.

11. It's hard to say if he is a coward or not.
He has skillfully avoided those moments of truth where his courage could be tested. He does not have an act of courage or nobility in his entire résumé. It is, however, fair to say that he in a moral lightweight who doesn't take anything seriously. His inappropriate humor is legendary.

He could have shown some courage by holding prominent administration bunglers accountable for their incompetence. Obviously there is someone he fears or he would have acted as a proper CEO and canned the likes of Rummy and Tenet.

Rummy and Tenet were accomplices. They're part of his "team".

Not to mention all the surrogates, Limbaugh, Hannity, etc.

16. He is a personal coward, and he's a very insecure brat
So I'm not sure you are right. There is fear on different levels at BushCo right now. Rove is afraid this will become bigger. Not terribly afraid, but he is afraid. Cheney is afraid Bush will do something stupid. Bush is afraid that people he can't control or kill are saying bad things about him.

He is truly a cowardly man. His bodygaurds at the Governor's Mansion in Texas said he was afraid of crowds, afraid of people, and afraid of any situation he wasn't in control of. That's why he doesn't speak in public often, and doesn't shake hands unless the crowd has been screened. He knows he's a phony, and he's terrified someone will discover it. When he is amongst supporters, he becomes a bully and pushes around anyone who disagrees with him. He arranges it so that he is never in a situation where the crowd is hostile.

Make no mistake. He's afraid to meet with Sheehan. He's afraid to face that type of righteousness. That's not rhetoric. He doesn't know that he could stand up to that type of confrontation, so he avoids it.

On the broader level, I'm sure he doesn't care one bit about her or anyone else. Hell, he ignores his own children. But he's terrified of the personal disapproval--the personal realization that the person seeing him is seeing right through his worthless facade--that would come with seeing her. He's afraid on a personal level.

17. I call that a sociopath, not necessarily a coward.
A coward would at least be aware of being afraid of what he doesn't want to face. Bush has no such feelings. The guy has a complex that prevents him from feeling these emotions.

Remember, God speaks to this guy.

Just my $0.02

29. That part's an act. Bush knows he's a coward.
A sociopath is just someone who is unable to realize that there is a right and a wrong. Bush fits that bill. (Reminds me of one of my brothers, who was diagnosed as a sociopath. He also had all the symptoms of fetal alcohol syndrome--he was a foster brother.)

But Bush is a coward, too.

30. Jobycom, to begin with, I'm sorry about your foster brother.
My reasoning for believing that he's not a coward, I guess has to come from the ability of someone feeling "shamed". I don't think that he is capable of feeling shame. Just look at Babs and her "beautiful mind".

(Of course this might bolster your fetal alcohol syndrome argument)

:)

34. Right on!
That is why he acted like an complete ass the first time he meet Cindy. He could sense that she was upset about her son dying and that she blamed him. What do most of us do when we get nervous? We usually let out a nervous giggle. Cindy said shrub acted joyful as if he were having a party when they meet. I don't doubt for a minute that Shrub has serious psychological issues and I'm not talking about your common depression.

As for him being afraid. Well I don't think he is as much afraid as he is agitated. He knows he cannot control the issue and I'm sure he was looking for a quiet vacation to plan his attack on Iran. Now here comes Cindy and she has put the war back on the burner. I think he is frustrated and he might be pissed that he could not arrest her, thank god for the internet for that one.

He doesn't think like most people. He lacks empathy, most of us would put ourselves in Cindy's shoes and would try to talk to her to tell her why we believe we had to act the way we did.

But to * she is simply irrelevent, he has no empathy and therefore could care less.

31. You do not diminish the work of Cindy Sheehan.
Maybe it all started out as a personal challege to bushie but now Sheehans cause has turned into a tug on the conscience of this nation. Bush is a tool of the corporatists. I agree with you. He is a spoiled rich boy. He is a narcisist as another poster in this thread so well explains. Cindy Sheehan is doing battle with and stomping the snot out of national ambivalence.

Doubtless he's salivating at the prospect, but Cheney knows it would create more problems than it solves, and prefers silent disappearings of Democrats into death camps under the auspices of the USA PATRIOT Act.
