Why in the world would Barbara Bush say that HORRID thing ?
Edited on Sun Aug-14-05 02:53 PM by steve2470
I mean, does that woman

a- have no brain
b- have no heart
c- have a mental illness, such as an organic brain syndrome
d- just not give a fuck
e- delight in enraging compassionate people, or...
f- all of the above

I'm taking about her beautiful mind comment in 2003.

"He sits and listens and I read books because I know perfectly well that - don't take offense - that 90 percent of what I hear on television is supposition, when we're talking about the news. And he's not, not as understanding of my pettiness about that. But why should we hear about body bags and deaths and how many, what day it's going to happen, and how many this or what do you suppose? Oh, I mean, it's, not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that? And watch him suffer."

15. Didn't Babs & George Sr. go golfing right after their daughter died?
Either the day she died, or the day of her funeral, leaving their other kids at home.

8. In Kitty Kelly's book, "The Family", she says that Barbara Bush
was always known for her caustic mouth and sarcasm. Kelly said she married Bush because no one else asked her. Most men couldn't stand her. I don't know what his purposes were but I'm sure it wasn't love. She really is a bitter old hag. It shows in her demeanor and what she says.

17. no, i think she suffered a REAL sea change
when her daughter died-

She died emotionally then- shut herself RIGHT down- refused to 'care' deeply about anyone or anything since then.

He heart turned to stone-

And she is TERRIFIED of death. So she won't 'face' it- sees it as the enemy- the one thing she cannot outfox, out-run, buy her way out of, or smart mouth away.

She's sad really- living in that state of denial-

and she's loosing. She hasn't got a prayer-

none of us will get out of this alive.

Having come VERY close to death myself, and having lost far too many loved ones, i no longer 'fear' death. i see it as inevitable. an equal opportunity unemployer.

Cindy's way of coping with the loss of Casey is a much more positive, productive, and life GIVING way than Barbara's was, and is-

But Cindy's way involves feeling the pain- crying the tears- railing at the injustice- and sorrowing and mourning the 'might have been's'

THAT takes courage, pluck, and spunk- and humility- lots of humility.

a world of difference- what a different world it would be if those women could have changed places-

20. The World According to Marie Antoinette, Oh, We Mean Barbara Bush and Her
Beautiful Mind (rest of headline)

A BUZZFLASH READER COMMENTARY

Excerpted from a Jimmy Breslin "Newsday" column (See:
http://www.newsday.com/news/opinion/columnists/ny-nybresvr3183831mar21,0,701559.column?coll=ny%2Dopinion%2Dcolumnists):

The following is from an immensely interesting transcript of Barbara Bush on an ABC-TV morning show. She was asked if she and her husband, the former president, watch television.

25. That's just incredibly sick and out of touch.
Go to hell, hag. Sorry to be so awful (my beloved mom has a resemblance to Babs; fortunately her kind soul shows in her appearance), but Babs is just a nasty, bitter, awful human being.
