Persistent freeper delusion: Lefties get paid to protest.... |
|
They've been saying this kind of stuff since the days of the Vietnam War protests. They can't accept the fact that we are out there because of something we strongly believe in.
I have never heard of anyone who has been paid to protest anything, and I've been an activist for almost forty years.
Check out this idiotic shit from the dark site (re: Cindy)
<snip> To: Cincinatus' Wife; All Maybe if she wasn't so tight with anti-Americans like Michael Moore and Code Pink we wouldn't condemn her so much. She's blogging on their websites and accepting their money.
To: Rosemont "She filibusters with Soros talking points and when she is done with them she runs out of things to say and ends the interview."
Why not? He's paying her. Be fair! <snip>
What a bunch of losers! They are really coming unglued as public opinion turns against their fearless leader's follies.

5. Projection, projection, always projection with these freaks. |

Time and again, whatever it is they're screeching about, accusing us, is precisely what they're guilty of themselves.
These are damaged, sick, perverted people. :puke:

So naturally, they are paranoid everyone else is as f*d up as they are.
Just look at the nuclear arms race. They assumed the enemy was going to kill them, so they lobbied for more nukes. Just the same exists with guns. One guy gets a gun because he assumes the other already has one or intends on getting on. Now we are off to the races on who has the biggest gun. And guess who gets killed?
EVERYBODY...
When we see this dangerous pattern, we should snuff it out.

4. Supposedly, there is at least one group that pays protesters |
|
There is a guy who brings a horse carriage to demonstrations in SF, who's main thing is that Mayor Brown of SF is the root of all evil. According to a newspaper article, he pays people to hold up signs and distribute literature.
There is also a group of people that do fund-raising to pay for the livelihood of people who travel to protests. I didn't get the impression that the protesters are sent to protests as assignments. Instead, it's a way to support people who want to go to a protest in Cancun say, but would not have the funds otherwise.
But, I agree with the main point. I'm not aware of any large groups of homeless people who've been payed to hold a sign, for example.

11. Oops, I stand corrected! |
|
I forgot about that dude. He lives not too far from me, and he does pay people to protest. He's very anti Bush, and is obsessed with a conspiracy theory about former San Francisco mayor Willie Brown being in on the 9/11 attacks. Someone actually gave him my phone number once, thinking we should work together, but one conversation with him was enough to let me know that he is nuts. He actually started threatening me that I better come right over and start working on his projects, or I would be sorry.
Whoo-boy!

As usual, these folks are projecting their own indifference and lack of commitment onto others. They've never put their own butts on the line for anything, so can only imagine Sheenan is somehow doing this for money.

14. The idea that people get paid to demonstrate is spread around because |
|
of its obvious extension to the idea that more liberal social safety net payments will result in increased numbers of people that spend all their spare time demonstrating.
