OK, it's time for us all to move to the center
so we can kick the shit out of whoever we find there & drag them back to the left where they belong.

5. *lol* You gotta remember that a lot of disaffected Repubs
are joining the Dems. That's gonna pull things rightward, but it's good that they are against **. We anti-**ers need all the help we can get.

8. Well, if they're in a leftward trajectory
I imagine they'll jujst keep on moving our way. There really isn't anything to stop them once they escae the chains of denial & confusion that kept them trapped on the right.

28. maybe they should form a "center" party.
sure we'll lose some and they'll lose some, but we can get our ideals on a platform and still have the viability of a major party. let them be the fringe for once.

if only we had a parlaimentary government that could accommodate more than two parties..

7. Aw, HELL no...
That's why Texans tend to be good at lassos - we'll just throw them over the centrists and bring them over to the left without having to budge an inch. Sound like a plan?

I would have to disagree with you, but...LOL

12. Does the center want national health care?
Does the center want to abandon the imperialistic wars?
Does the center want end the war on drugs?
Does the center want to push back federal power to Constitutional limits?

What are the ideals of the right? What are the ideals of the left? Seems like right, left, and center stretch enough to overlap to a point of meaninglessness. Maybe we should talk issues instead of labels with no standard definition. That would be the progressive thing to do.

A little humor always helps the sad reality of it all.

26. Yes, the center wants all that, too.
They are afraid of us, however. Very little of that fear is well grounded; it comes from us letting them paint us, obscuring our efforts, and there ARE the far-left wackos who helped pick the color of that paint, eh?

I'm all for issues, and if we can reasonably express those issues clearly the center will be ours.

But never forget, we won the last few elections, but they were stolen through the e-voting black boxes.

19. DLC is like Bullwinkle talking to Rocky (DNC)
Bullwinkle: "Hey, Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat!"
Rocky: "Again? That trick never works!"
Bullwinkle: "This time for sure!"

31. LOL, more proof Bullwinkle really is DLC:
Bullwinkle: "Don't worry Rocky, I'll think of something."
Rocky: "I don't think I can wait that long."

Bullwinkle: "I'm going over there and giving them a piece of my mind."
Rocky: "That's what I like about you. No matter how little you have, you're always willing to share."

Bullwinkle: "Don't worry Rocky. I'll get you out if I have to do it piece by piece."

THANK YOU!!!!! You have no idea how bad I needed to see this on here after all the crap talking about abandoning women's right to choice and equal rights for our GLBT sisters and brothers.

Jackpine, I have always loved you and your posts, but you made my day today!

20. Hi. Laura.
Guess we have a mutual admiration society going.

The left--or anyway what passes for it in this benighted country--is to me the only available expression of public morality. Peace, deep ecology & sustainability, economic & social justice, "civil libertarianism", universal health care, privacy rights, etc. are the fundamentals of a humane society. Any leftist politician who gives up any of these in order to be elected is, in principle, giving up his legitimacy, and is in pragmatic terms giving up his electability. Why elect an ersatz Fascist when you can vote for the Republicans & get the real thing?

24. replies will fall into 2 categories:
1) Iraqis (or women, children, men, gays, the entire Earth) are not as important as a few worthless seats or a worthless majority.
2) Complete denial of reality ("voting for war guarantees electability!" 6 seat losses vs. 1!)
