1. I thinking pretty big. Momentum is building. I will be there. I've talked
my brother and sister-in-law into being there. Cindy Sheehan's adding to the momentum.

3. Well, when you factor in the "sudden national emergency"
that will hit the US around early September, they might not be all that big at all.

:sarcasm:

4. Or they might be huge if they piss people off instead of scare them

5. As an organizer for the 24th, I'm hoping that's the case
As a realist who has lived under five long years of Bush and his cynical dirty tricks, I have my doubts.

7. Hey, London didn't shut down. Maybe we'll take a page from their book?

9. Hopefully.
I just remember the summer of 2001 being very much like it is now...very anti-Bush, poll numbers in the toilet, huge demonstrations scheduled for late September...and, as if by a miracle, 9/11 happened.

Far be it for a simple mind like mine to allege that it was planned that way, but let's just say the Bush junta is one of the luckiest regimes in the world when it comes to accidental tragedies that favor them.

11. They tried to diminish the pre-war worldwide protests...
by driving tanks around Heathrow and raising the terror alert levels over here, but it didn't work. I can understand your cynicism, though - nothing this evil, twisted administration does shocks me.

6. Yes, the biggest yet
Bush's appproval rating on how he is handling Iraq is down to 34%. More and more are waking up and the peace movement is picking up momentum.

I hope it's HUGE.

23. We have to make them big enough that everyday people see them without
the "help" of the corporate media.

10. The real question is "will anything happen as a result?"
Don't get me wrong, I love a good old-fashioned protest (and I hope everybody who can goes to D.C.) but organizing a huge group of people is one thing, affecting change is another.

Remember, over a million people protested in London before the Iraq war, the country still went to war and tony got re-elected.

14. Funkybutt, I checked last night and I think it was booked. Do you know?
I will probably take my car and meet everyone at the station. Others will need my car because not everyone is arriving and leaving at the same time. We need the flexibility.

Keep checking that "crescent" route. I think someone at newdemocracyrising.com/messagboard.asp may have more information.

17. Yes. Bigger than the 3/03 marches,...which were historical!!!
I still find it a damn SHAME that the most awesome congregation of humanity has been IGNORED. The FACT that the CM paid more attention to the extremist few on Shiavo rather than the MILLIONS of Americans taking a stand against exploitation PROVES to me that the media HATES principles or values or courage,...all that which challenges their profiteering off human vulnerability.

22. Remember the MSM
They will say the crowd is only 10% of what it really was, while Im sure they will say overstate the amount of people on Cheney's 9/11 march.

A Million people could turn up for the 9/24 march.
